... und die Reise fährt fort

Paradeplatz in the centre of Zurich - Switzerland's financial capital.

DAY TWO
14 OCTOBER 2006 (My brother's birthday!)

As much as Switzerland is famous for its efficiency and what not, it is not immune to traffic jams!

Zurich's equivalent of King's Cross.

Zurich's City Hall or Stadthaus.

A small square beside Stadthaus. Look at the colour of those buildings. Love 'em. "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Another view of the square and a gorgeous looking building.

Zurich's Savoy Hotel. The Savoy in London is really exquisite too.

Movenpick Cafe: Mmm... that was the best apple crumble I've ever had. It wasn't too sweet, and had a fantastic aftertaste. Trust me, it was absolutely amazing. I washed it down with a hazelnut latte - which wasn't bad either.

Waiting to board a cruise on Lake Zurich. As you can see, it was really foggy that day. It was also pretty windy. My friend and I decided in the end that we should do the cruise the next day instead. We eventually didn't. It was good that they refunded our tickets anyways. Nice people, the Swiss. Oh, and apologies for the reeeeally tacky cap. I was really pissed with how my hair looked so we bought a cap at the Rheinfall gift shop the day before. I thought the cap went really well with my trainers!

A clock that doesn't work. It was mid-afternoon, not 11 in the morning. Makes you think twice about getting a Swiss watch, eh?

Autumn's colours and private boats on Lake Zurich.

Some German mythical character, according to my friend. Google it.

Swans. Do I really need to say more than that?

A view of the broadwalk on Lake Zurich's shores. Look at the gloomy skies. It didn't rain eventually though.

A gorgeous looking boy. Just look at those eyes.

Probably from some protest earlier in the day or something. Or some commemoration. I don't know. But it definitely caught my eye.

A view of beautiful Lake Zurich. Wouldn't it be nice to live by the lake?

Later that evening, we had fondue for dinner. I must say, fondue can be a bit boring! But it was nice, nonetheless. I like food. Food I like.

I didn't actually take pictures of Day Three but suffice it to say, I had a wonderful trip. Four more stamps on my passport! Oh, hope you enjoyed the pictures, ja?

Anyways, details of my flight home the next day.

15 October 2006, Sunday
Ryanair
FR 2002
Friedrichshafen (FDH) to London Stansted (STN)
Scheduled time of departure: 2140
Scheduled time of arrival: 2210
Boeing 737-8AS
EI-CSP

The plane arrived in Friedrichshafen really late - like at least 45 minutes after our scheduled departure time. But with the cooperation of all passengers, boarding was completed within 10 minutes - no kidding! We eventually got in to Stansted only about ten minutes later than scheduled.
