She stood there, craning her neck to fully see the obstruction before her. How had she gotten where she was? It seemed only minutes ago that she was walking on such an easy path and making excellent time. Looking behind her everything seemed in order, and she could just give up, turn around, and walk back the way she came. But she wanted to go forward, not back!! Her destination was on the other side of this massive edifice of stone, put there by some malicious foul hoping to stall her progress. She walked back a pace or so and took it in from every angle. There was no way around she could see and became furious. Raising her only weapon, a sharp pointed stick, she ran full speed at the offensive blockade! One way or another it was coming down! The stick did nothing to help her, broke, in fact, and the full force of the impact knocked her off her feet and onto her back. She was now both mentally AND physically jarred. "It's pointless." She lay in front of the unmarred barrier and closed her eyes. This was it. She succumbed to her defeat. She just wasn't strong enough. She never would be able to conquer this on her own. As she lay prostrated before her nemesis with no will to continue her quest, the wall sneered and silently rejoiced at the sight of another fallen victim. But what sympathy could we expect from Writer’s Block, who is a heartless foe, indeed?
