Summary: Shunsui comes down and gives Kuukaku a visit during her break. They later head upstairs for a massage.
It was five of. Two, to be exact. Kuukaku groaned in the back room at the kitchen as she mixed some woman’s chocolate crammed Latte. As much as the one-armed woman enjoyed the sweet cocoa, six shots of chocolate with syrup on top of the whipped cream was just too much. The drink may as well have been melted coffee ice cream. The thought caused Miss Shiba to frown, but she wiped it away and brought the medium sized Styrofoam cup out to the woman at her small table.
Turning away, she looked at the clock. One minute until two. Kuukaku made a break for the office to tell Kisuke before anyone else tried to order something. It was only just after two when she returned from the back, having stopped to rant to her boss about the copious amounts of chocolate in that lady’s drink. Grabbing her jacket off of the hook, Kuukaku pulled it on over her right arm stub and then slid her whole arm into the other sleeve. Pushing through the front door, she let out a “bur” at the impact of cool air on her face and open cleavage. There were a lot of things she could do quickly, zipping things was not one of them.
Shunsui pulled on his coat and pulled it carefully on. He was midway to the door when he stopped suddenly and jogged back to write a little note leaving it on his clean desk. He ran a hand through his hair and nearly took the elevator but decided against it after he recalled that one of Ukitake's assistants had gotten trapped just the other day. Shunsui didn't mind the stairs at all, the only thing a man at his age had was his health. But the prospect of a little romance seemed to lift his spirits. He had kept his distance from the budding Shiba for some time but the grace period for grief was over and he didn't feel so guilty about seeking her out.
Not that it stopped him before, but now he felt comfortable to close in on her.
He spotted her easily enough and she looked just as pretty as he remembered. He wondered why he ever stopped visiting the coffee shop. That's right, they didn't serve alcohol.
"Well if it isn't the beautiful Miss Shiba." Shunsui grinned, trying to catch her attention as he walked up behind her.
Kuukaku had been in a mild space-out when she heard someone walking up behind her. She was only just outside of the doorway, dark eyes looking out on the parking area in front of her. The snow that buried plants and signs, slush on the tar which blurred the parking lines. She really hated winter, if only because it was just such a hassle to dress for it. And to dig her car out.
But, turning around, Kuukaku raised a brow. She smirked at Shunsui, hand resting upon her wide-set hips. “I was wondering when you’d come around,” she said. There was a teasing glint in her eye as she shifted on her feet, jacket hanging limply over her chest. It did little good, she was still cold. The affects would have been obvious if she wasn’t in the jacket, but the little pricks standing out on her neck were sign enough.
“I’m on break, so you’ll have to ask Karin or one of the newbs for coffee.” Kuukaku looked the man over as she spoke. She hadn’t seen him in a while. He looked as if he’d changed, and yet was still the same. Not that she’d paid mind to it before, but she couldn’t deny his qualities.
Shunsui's grin grew.
"There's other things besides coffee bringing me down here." He winked. "I'm sure you're tired of coffee, but I was hoping to buy you a warm drink. Looks like you need a little warmin' up." Shunsui didn't mind warming her up in another way. He did reach over and pulled her jacket tighter around her body. He thought about zipping it up too and lightly grazing her breast on accident but Nanao would be suspicious if he showed up with a red mark on his cheek in the shape of a hand...
Really, Kuukaku was thoroughly amused. “I suppose,” she said while glancing down at his hands briefly. Go on, she thought. I’m bored. I dare you.
“I could use something hot. A small hot cocoa, then?” Kuukaku gave another smirk and stepped out of Shunsui’s reach. Walking into the door, hand outstretched, she pushed it open. That was enough fresh air, she figured while grabbing a seat at a two-person table by the window. Shaking out of her jacket, quite literally as she shimmied it off of her shoulders and onto the seat backing, Kuukaku looked up at Shunsui. “Extra whipped cream.”
Shunsui tried not to stare as he watched her breasts move when she shimmied out of her jacket. He gulped and cleared his throat that was surprising thick for that moment.
"Extra cream, I'll be back in a moment." Shunsui walked up to the counter and placed her order but couldn't decide on what he should drink. There was nothing that stood out to him so he just picked the same thing Kuukaku ordered but without whipped cream and asked for a small bowl of marshmallows with a wink. That might get him some points with the lovely Shiba. He returned to table and with a smile, he set down both cups.
"Just as the lady ordered." He took the seat across from her. "And some marshmallows if you want~"
“I didn’t even know we had them,” she teased. Somewhere in the back of her mind she was aware the shop had marshmallows, but people rarely seemed to order them. Reaching out with her hand, she sighed and closed her eyes. It was so warm. . .
Kuukaku took a deep, calm breathe as she felt the heat prick at her fingers and run up her arm. She looked really. . .happy. Which was entirely too odd because she was never happy. Not since she had returned from her little get together with her parents. They had, essentially, banished her from the family. Why they would do such a thing after losing their own son, Kuukaku wasn’t sure, but she wasn’t about to plead for help. She could make it on her own.
“Thank you, Shunsui. What did you get?” Her eyes opened and blinked at him, smile fading to a mere serene look. Under the table, her legs crossed, foot grazing by calf accidentally.
A boner. Not fully but a slight thrill of the touch on his calf. "Hot cocoa for me, wanted to know why you wanted it. I'm glad, it's sweet and delicious." He gave her a look that clearly said, just like you.
The woman laughed. This man was funny, why hadn’t she hung around with him more? Clearly a brain glitch. “Glad you approve,” said Kuukaku. Reaching out, her slender fingers grabbed up a few of the marshmallows. About three or four of the mini-treats, and brought them to her lips. Glancing away as the bell rang at the entrance, Kuukaku popped one. . .by one. . .by one into her mouth. When she was done she licked off the dusting left behind from the candy before turning her eyes back on Shunsui.
“How’re things, upstairs?” she asked, casually. Sometimes she wished she worked elsewhere, up in an office instead of down in the coffee house. Maybe it would be better. Maybe it would pay more. Or, maybe it would be more fun.
Shunsui saw the little game she was playing, he didn't mind at all.
"Same old same old. So how are things downstairs?" He leaned forward to let her know that his statement had another meaning as well.
He was far too amusing. Kuukaku chewed on the treats while leaning forward on her arm to look him back in the face. “Terribly boring,” she said. “No one of interest comes in at all.” Smiling, she picked up her drink and took a sip from it, tilting her head back just a smidgen to let the hot liquid slip into her mouth. Swallowing, she put the Styrofoam cup down.
“How unfortunate for the beautiful Miss Shiba. I suppose I'll have to make it a point to come downstairs more often. Wouldn't want Kuukaku-chan to be so unhappy~" Shunsui smiled, boy she was a tease. He didn't mind it all, he just enjoyed watching her. She was a beautiful and passionate woman.
“If you came down more often you’d never be working in your office.” The woman sat back up, nice and straight, and looked at the door again when the bell rang. It was out of habit, she supposed. Kuukaku always looked at the entrance when the chime rang out.
“And who says I’m unhappy? I’m perfectly fine working down here with loud, obnoxious snobs who order drinks filled with far too much caffeine for the average person.” She smirked and pointed behind Shunsui. “That man there orders a large double with three shots of espresso, every day. Once he had just a regular, black, but spilled it. The woman over there in the corner gets a Mocha Latte, Chai, with an extra splash of cream. Lord knows why, I think it’s disgusting. She drinks it in five minutes and is off upstairs. I’m perfectly happy taking orders for these people.”
Oh her sarcasm extended farther than her words could allow. She really hated it down here some days.
“Perhaps a massage would loosen Kuukaku-chan up? Come up to my office whenever you need a break, my door is always open for you." He genuinely meant that. He wasn't just a bachelor with an one track mind, he also wanted to be a source of comfort for the people he deeply cared about here at Soul Society, Inc. This place was his home and he wanted to make sure all here was happy.
“My break lasts half an hour,” she told him. “Why don’t we go up with the remaining twenty minutes I have?” Kuukaku could really use that massage, she figured. Her neck screamed just at the thought of a possible rub down. “I’d say do it here, but Kisuke might get jealous.” She laughed and reached out for her drink, taking a long sip from it as her legs uncrossed and again passed by his calf. She was far too long for such short tables. There was no where to back your chair up to, either. Another chair was behind you!
"Well then, follow me Kuukaku-chan and I'll be happy to oblige." He winked and offered her his arm to take. He secretly hoped Nanao-chan wouldn't be in her office when he brought up Kuukaku. He didn't want to offend her by bringing another women into her domain. He still deeply cared for the woman, too.
“It’s Kuukaku,” stated the tall brunette as she took his arm with hers. In her hand was the drink, being held carefully, like his bicep against the side of her large breast. “The -chan makes me feel like I’m five. Do I look five to you, sir?”
The look she gave him was difficult to describe. Something like teasing, but alluring and slightly serious at the same time. It was mostly alluring, if it had to be given one descriptor.
"Kuukaku...chan....Kuukaku..." Shunsui said both slowly giving each consideration. He liked Kuukaku-chan because she was really cute whether she saw it or not. Plus he was used to adding the -chan for most of the women. Even the sixty year old women who worked at his dry cleaners. But if she insisted...
"All right, Kuukaku. Do you like it rough or gentle...the massage that is." He grinned.
Giving him a grin, she tilted her head toward the right lightly. “Why don’t you guess,” she teased. Walking in step with him, she glanced down at their feet before bringing her eyes back up to his face. “Don’t worry, I’m not judging you if you pick wrong. I’ll let you decide when you touch me.”
"I bet you like both, depending on your mood. Despite how you like it, I bet you're quite passionate...about massages." He gave a little wink.
“Oh, I like you.” Kuukaku grinned wickedly at Shunsui as they stepped into the elevator. “And, yes. You could say that. Which floor is yours?”
He leaned over, pressing his body more on her and pushed the button that read 4. "I'm glad you like me because I like you." He gave her a handsome grin to follow such a blunt statement.
She was not desperate. She was NOT desperate.
She was totally desperate. But Kuukaku was not going to let it look obvious. Even if it was. “Good,” she replied while letting him lean against her. She didn’t move or lean back out of his way. Merely, the busty woman stood there while glancing down at his hand pushing the button.
Shunsui smiled and looked over at her giving her a chance to speak up next. He was just had a natural fierce beauty to her, he wondered if she knew how undeniably sexy she was.
Not really, no. Kuukaku actually really despised herself sometimes. Her arm got in the way of seeing the rest of herself as what she was. She sometimes accepted the fact that she had one good arm and one that had been blown off. Other times she loathed herself, all of it. Not just the missing portion.
“Do you like massages, Shunsui?” she asked out of curiosity. She smiled at him, white teeth peeking through her full lips. “All things considered, I’m pretty good.”
