Still seething from Kisuke's insistent prodding, Ryuuken's mind refused to focus on the mountains of paperwork that covered his desk. Ever since Retsu had insisted upon a private sit down, his nerves were running at an all time high and he'd already snuck out for three cigarette breaks in an attempt to calm himself. Whatever the demonic doctor wanted, it was sure to be something that was going to ruin his day, something he was sure that she was counting on.

Aside from it being something in reference to the meeting with the insurance adjusters, Ryuuken had no idea what in the hell was so important that Retsu had to disturb his already overloaded day. He hadn't even bothered with her staff or his usual tendency to torment and threaten her budget here of late with the influx of his work load with the craziness that was tax season.

Agitated slate-blue eyes glanced at the clock, debating if he would have enough time to run out for another quick smoke break but the thought was dashed away with the knocking at his door.

Dammit.

"It's unlocked." Best to just get this over with.
