I SUK BIG COX

It was a terrible thing to write, in Ururu's opinion. The truant teenagers had only been about halfway done scraping a very detailed image of said "cox" into the frost on the windshield of the sleek new Mercedes when Ururu had piped up to inform them that they "probably shouldn't be doing that," and could they "maybe go find something else to do?"

The thought came to mind that she really should have been more specific about what "something else" might be when the first snowball - or slushball, rather - caught her right in the chest. The sudden cold wetness had taken Ururu by surprise and at least two more snowballs connected with her small frame before her resolve had finally solidified. Fumbling with the spray bottle full of glass cleaner had taken another moment, and then with no more warning than a slight widening of her eyes, Ururu had taken off after them, a dripping, dirty, slush-covered terror firing off blasts of icy Windex and snapping a cold, wet cleaning towel at them. The towel-snapping had little effect - they were all well-armoured in their quilted jackets and thick mittens - but after catching a mouthful of chemicals the ringleader had turned tail and run, his cronies quickly following suit.

Ururu wasn't finished with them, yet; she'd taken off after them, chasing them around the side of the building towards the pond. Just as she was about to tackle the slowest of the group she'd slipped on the pavement and landed hard on her butt. With an indignant squeak, she'd watched them run off.

Now she was pushing herself up off the sidewalk. Briefly she considered going back to the Mercedes to correct the misspellings - really, if they were going to the trouble anyway, they could've at least done it right - but the slush was beginning to freeze to her hair and eyelashes, and her little indoor shoes were soaked through and filthy. Thinking back, she realized that the delinquents had been fully absorbed with their work; even had she taken the time to pull on her coat and galoshes she still could have caught them in the act.

The point was moot, however; the damage was done and the boys were gone, probably well into some other misdeed. For the moment, Ururu was cold. She scurried back to the building, heading through the nearest doorway and finding herself in the employee lounge. She shifted from foot to foot, her wet shoes making squishing noises on the floormat. She wouldn't be able to make it to a restroom without leaving a trail of dirty tracks on the floor. Someone would have to clean that up, she knew, and she'd hate to make more work for anyone else. Uncertain, she stood shivering in the doorway.

"Umm..."
