Tomorrow night we graduate high school. Burrillville High School will no longer be our school, we won't have to listen to Trogisch, Short, and Menard but we probably still will. I'll never do the announcements again. After 4 years I never have another extra band rehearsal. I'll never have another Student Council meeting. Or see gorgeous Genarro walk through the halls. Or hear Sawyer yell "Call Ya Momma!" or play dodgeball, kickball, or country-line dance in gym class. Or eat with my lunch girls, and eat school food. I'll never sign out on my senior privilidges to go to Dunkin Donuts or Subway. I'll never have to play at another football game, take another vocabulary test, do a publications spread, do stupid grammar, memorize verb tenses in latin, rush to class, or get excited for Homecoming.
After 12 years we aren't in the Burrillville School system and we're alumni of this place. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and surprisingly, I'm not as sad or depressed as I expected. I'm more optimistic and happy, 4 years of BHS is a long time and I've done a ton of stuff. For once I'm not rushed, stressed out, and nervous - it's excellent to finally relax and only be concerned with whose house to go to at night, or where to have dinner, or what time I feel like waking up.
Senior Play cast dinner was awesome. Wind Tiki - mmmmmmmmm! It was fun, Christy & I got the Firearm's Award for the Worst Use of Guns - totally true, we were brutal with our neon waterguns. The hats and jackets and photos were pretty sweet - Polacek & Hall really have done so much for us, it amazes me.
Senior Banquet was awesome. I can't wait to finish my roll of film so I can see all the pictures. Everyone looked awesome, the slideshow was awesome (good job Kyle, Scott & Bucci), dinner was good, and everyone was just fun.
Senior Awards last night was pretty sweet. Craig & I got the Marine Corps. Academic Excellence Award. Pookie & I got plaques for all of our band things because we're geeks. Ocean State Power gave me a scholarship for $1,000. I also got the Levy Memorial Scholarship which is $7,500 a year for 4 years ($30,000) which is basically all I'll ever need to pay at RIC. Pretty awesome, I think I cried a little. Congratulations to everyone, soooo much money was given out.
Class Day - eh, wasn't as great as I had expected. It was rushed, the underclassmen didn't get to see us walk in, y'know - it wasn't the same as the past years have been.
Graduation tomrorow - I don't really know what to say/think/feel....
