I'm almost embarressed at long it has been

I can't believe that it is almost the end of March and I've barely posted this year. There's so much to say and at the same time "meh"-- nothing too new to go off of. I think I'll just write about the major things I can recall of the past few months.

January: New year, lots of cold. Started a new project I launched at work which makes me feel smart and important. Start realizing I need to find another job but kind of lazy about finding one. Picked a date for the wedding (Valentine's Day 2009) and found a venue (because Leah is insane and decided to get married on a holiday). The deposits down already. We're going to get married at Independence Grove in Libertyville. My cousin Barbara is going to officiate the ceremony. No clue on bridal party.

February: TONS OF SNOW!!! What the hell was I thinking getting married in February!?! Lots of new stress on my plate due to the fear that no one will show up to the wedding. Oh well. More booze for those that do come. (Open bar people...what more incentive do you need?) Jason worked a lot of overtime thanks to the need to plow a lot. Poor guy. He was very sleepy a lot of the time. Valentine's Day 2008 came and I was bouncing off the walls because I was getting married in a year. Started getting excited. Started the hunt for photographer and DJ for the wedding and did some interviews. Applied for a couple new jobs within Baxter, no bites though. Nelson started a new round of obedience classes.

March: Weather began to warm up and we discovered a massive seepage issue in the basement. After a professional came to look at it we now are scheduled to have drain tiles installed. Yay to being a homeowner and now have some significant work done to the house. Boo to the price tag. Sigh. Made down payments on photographer (www.kevinweinstein.com) and Dj. In an unexpected turn of events found my wedding dress (just this last weekend actually). Now just need for the year to go buy so I can start planning the other more time sensitive aspects. Oh, and find a florist. That's a big one. Nelson is still doing well in class and when I remember to do it I'm going to look into having him certified as a therapy dog.

Today: Doing ok overall. I'm tired a lot lately due to uneven sleep patterns and adjusting to the daylight savings time. I wish I didn't have to commute so much to work so I'm hoping one of the jobs I applied for works out. The office building would be much closer to home. I'm worried about slimming down for the wedding. I don't want to be a fat and ugly bride. The only real issue is that I love food and love to eat. I need to chain my mouth shut I think. The bridal party is still up in the air thanks to family drama that my mother is worried about. It's really beginning to annoy me. Project Potty is STILL on-going but I honestly swear, my friends, that the end is in sight. The bathroom is painted, the lighting is installed and the shower tile is purchased and just waiting to be put up, it's just a matter of Jason having the free time. Oh how I wish I had more home improvement know-how. We're hoping to have a fully functional and complete bathroom by end of April as long as there aren't any major snow storms, seepage issues or family emergencies. And Nelson is right now ecstatic that the weather has changed because his favorite friends Stick and Mud have come back to play, which means that most of the time, at least lately, he has been one dirty puppy.
