adventure of the day
well, i shall now tell you about my little adventure with fire last night because i think that sarah will be amused by it (little pyro that she is! *G*)
last night was the LGBT cabbaret for World Aids Day (which was completely awesome, just for the record).i went to go help set up. we put table clothes on tables. blew up balloons. set out chairs. you know, the usual. we had candles and napkins to go under them. it looked quite nice really. but then the napkins started to flutter around whenever anyone walked by. no one really noticed this or thought anything of it. we were busy doing other things. then, one of the workmen who had been helping to move tables caught my attention and gestured to another table and said fire, although he didn't seem to be terribly concerned all things considered. i looked around and, low and behold, one of the tables was indeed on fire. the napkin had fluttered into the candel and was quite happily burning. luckily i got to it before the entire table cloth went up in flames, but it still took a fair amount of blowing and patting to get it out. needless to say, we taped the napkins down after that.
