Serena: Toasted blueberry? You spoil me.
Carter: Dorota offered to make eggs but I thought it was the duty of the devoted lover to provide.
Serena: I missed you.
Carter: And you showed me just how much when I got in last night.
Serena: For now, toaster pastries are all I can afford.
Carter: Just go. Talk to her, for me.
Serena: Fine, but then you have to do something for me. Take my place at Dim Sum with my friends.
Carter: Dumplings with Blair and Chuck?
Serena: And Nate!

Serena: You’re coming right?
Carter: I wouldn’t miss you in something pink and poofy.

Chuck: I’m getting sick of being your travel agent.
Blair: Looks like I was right and you were wrong.
Serena: Hey, you okay?
Carter: No, and you might not be either when you hear what I have to say. A few months before we left to search for your Dad, I ran up some gambling debt. I owed a lot of money to some scary people. And I met this woman, Beth. She was shy, kind and well, she fell in love with me and I saw an opportunity.
Carter: The wedding was all planned and she had her dress, flowers, and I nearly went through with it but I, I didn’t love her.
Serena: So what, you just disappeared?
Carter: It’s the worst thing I’ve ever done.
Serena: You buy this girl a ring, you tell her you love her, what did you make her breakfast in the morning too?
Carter: Serena, it’s not the same.
Carter: Are you okay?
Serena: Will you just leave? Please, I need some time.
[he takes her hand]
Carter: Just so you know, I told you what I told you because it’s not the same with you. I really do care about you, Serena, so much.
Bree: Hey, Carter, you remember my cousin Beth’s brothers, right?
Carter: I’ll be at the Downing tonight. You can’t do this here.
Chuck: Look, I may loathe the guy but he didn’t have to own up to anything. He could’ve skipped town. I even bought him a ticket. He risked a lot going to the wedding knowing Bree would be there.
Serena: The girl he was engaged to was a Buckley?
Chuck: He must really care about you.
Serena: Do you think the Buckleys would actually hurt him?
Chuck: They clearly want revenge.
Serena: Carter, hey, I just talked to Chuck. I just want to make sure you’re okay. Call me please. I want to talk to you.
