Character Name: Fou-Lu
Character's Age: 489
Fandom: Breath of Fire 4

History: Legend had once fortold that a young couple would have a baby boy, but this newborn baby would be far from normal, in fact he would be considered a God. In a small Japanese village before New Sanctum was formed, a young couple gave birth to a baby boy with unusual, piercing green eyes and small, red horns protruding from his skull. Despite his strange appearance, Fou-Lu spent his first ten years of life happily with his family, although the villagers were not particularly keen on him. When he was ten years old, he had left home at the first sign of daylight to explore the wilderness surrounding the village and tragically, when he returned he found that his home had been burned down to the ground and his parents had been brutally beaten to death.

He was swiftly exiled from the village and for a time, was not seen again for another eight years when he arrived in the western continent of Japan where he accidentally revealed his powers as a Dragon God after protecting the people of the western continent from an evil deity. He was swiftly hailed as a savior and was soon made the First Emperor of the west when he was just eighteen.

Several more years passed, although his physical aging began to slow down drastically and, over this time he united the west to form the Fou-Empire and set up a powerful army to protect its people. At the same time, the Eastern Alliance was beginning to rebel and fight for its indipendance from the rest of Japan and soon, an all out war had begun.

For a while, it looked like the West was winning the battle, when Fou-Lu was struck down in battle by a knight wielding the sacred sword, Dragonslayer, aptly named for its power to kill even a God. Before his death, Fou-Lu predicted that he would return one day and reclaim his position as the Emperor of the West.

Hundreds of years passed and the war between the East and the West waged on. Whilst in the past the war had a purpose of protecting the people of the Western Empire and everything that had been set up, it now exists only as a war over power with hundreds of casualties being the result.

Just as he predicted, 467 years later Fou-Lu ressurrected from his tomb along with his sacred guardian, Won-Qu and was angered by what he saw. Mortals killing other mortals over nothing more than greed and destroying the world in the process. Now his first goal is to cleanse the world of evil and greed to start a brand new world, free from the sins of humanity although, due to a mishap in his ressurrection, he only posesses the power of a half-god, for some of his power seperated from him to form a completely separate identity.

Personality: Quiet and even-tempered, Fou-Lu is not a particularly difficult person to get along with. Despite his arrogance he is often able to put aside the fact that he is an immortal and help out those in need, however when humanity turned its back on him and began to sin and wage war with each other, he turned his back on humanity.

His calm nature and present disgust for humanity often leads to him appearing quite stoic and cold at times, although deep down he still cares for the people who turned their backs on him so long ago. He does not condone what the war has evolved into and is determined to make the humans realize the destruction they alone have caused, even if it means destroying humanity itself.

Fou-Lu’s pride and stubborn nature can often lead to trouble for him and his over-emphasis on the fact that he is better than humanity often annoys those around him, whilst he is not rude towards them, he does look down on them somewhat for their primmative behaviour and now that his trust and respect for humanity has been tarnished, it will take a lot to get that back for each individual.

Powers: Fou-Lu is a Dragon God. This means that he is an immortal when complete. However, since he was split into two separate identities, he has been weakened and is therefore more vulnerable to being killed.

Even in his half-god state, he has the power to transform into a dragon and he can hold this form for quite some time. His powers can be devistating and he has a number of attacks that are potentially lethal although most of which are elementally based around water, meaning he is weakened by fire, however he does have a particularly deadly attack called Soul Rend. Whilst this attack does not kill its target, it does harm them to an inch of their life, so he can subsequently finish them off with another attack quite easily although, in his half-god state, this move is difficult to use as it requires an immense amount of energy and often concequently, leaves him incredibly vulnerable to attack.

Due to being a God, Fou-Lu does not age normally, in fact his aging was suspended when he reached his 20s so even today, 489 years later, he has maintained his youthful looks.

In canon: Fou-Lu united the western continent single-handedly with his paranormal powers. He became the first emperor of the Fou-Empire several hundred years ago. Despite his youthful look, he has mystic dignity. It is said that he predicted his own ressurrection as he passed away.
