Yep, I'd taken a connecting flight through the UK back to Tokyo because, apparently, that was cheeper than the Shinkensen. The last thing I remember is buying Japanese sweets at Heathrow and being all "they're actually cheeper here in the uk, weird huh." to the store clerk...my head makes no sense!!
