bad timing ftw

so BOU's been spluttering and generally not making happy noises for the last couple of days. Yesterday while making my way home this red light came on and instantly I had that "this isn't going to be good" feeling.

Fearful of car expolosion/general failure all of the way I managed to get him back and proceeded to tell papa all the symptoms.

Nodding dad then said the words that all car owners never want to hear"it sounds like the head gasket has gone"

For those not car savy the only jobs more expensive than fixing a head gasket are replacing your entire engine or fixing your catalic convertor.

A bit of prodding and poking confirmed the initial anaylisis and I was left with a very difficult choice: Spend the money and get the car fixed or buy yet another car

Surface skimming of the car market showed that I bascially wasn't going to save money by replacing BOU and thus, as I love him very much, I opted to fix him.

He's off to the garage today and, aparently, I get a curtosy car while he's there...which is thankful 'cause tomorrow we're off on another epix road trip and half the party's riding with me!!

Other silent thanks is to my parents, as their shouldering the expense for me and letting me pay back in installments so that I can basically carry on as though nothing has happened at all!!

car, bou, road trips, parents
