Once in a lifetime opportunity?

I saw Morrissey tonight, at UB. He hadn't been to Buffalo in ten years and has got to be pushing 50, so who knows if/when he will be here again. Though looking a bit rough (which I was prepared for after seeing a recent photo in which his pompadour and all-black outfit made him look like a skinnier Johnny Cash), the man's voice has not aged a day. There was much writhing about and weird homoerotic innuendo, and sweaty shirts were cast off into the audience. He sounded incredible.

Not only did we get to hear This Charming Man and How Soon Is Now, but the set list also included Ask. Solo stuff was good too. Anything would have been, for I was in the same room as Morrissey, and his voice was unmistakable. I've been a huge fan since I was 15 or 16 -- nearly half my life. The show ranks with Tori and They Might Be Giants as among the best I've seen.
