repost due to crosspost failure

I feel really sorry for Andy Murray. Everyone was all 'pfft, no chance' and now he's through to the final he's saying it won't mean anything if he doesn't win - and no wonder! He only started to get support when he got to the semi and then to the final. If he doesn't win, the papers will be all about his failure and he won't get support next time. Nevermind it's years and years since a British man was in the final!

The BBC coverage is a little odd as today is home to both the British Grand Prix (which I want to watch) and the Men's Wimbledon Final (which I will be watching because I wanted to watch a bit, but Mum wants to watch it all). GP coverage starts for 50mins on BBC1, then switches to BBC2 when Wimbledon kicks off so that it can be on BBC1, after the MotoGP has finished on BBC2. Of course, with the weather there is every chance that while play can continue at Wimbledon, they'll have the safety car out at Silverstone, so I may as well watch it on Sky+.

Wimbledon continued until two minutes past ten on BBC2 last night, delaying the next Hollow Crown (Henry IV) by over an hour, so I missed the second half because I was too tired and went to bed.

The flooding going on is awful; thus far my city is fine, but so many others have had belongings ruined - and there have been a couple of deaths - it's mostly belongings and livelihoods that have been spoiled, but it's obviously really bad for the people it's affecting. They interviewed one woman who had been back in her home for just six weeks after the last round of flooding, and her insurance hadn't even fully paid out for the repairs and replacements from that flood. But it's nothing like the terrible tragedy that has befallen Russia though; people drowned sleeping or electrocuted.
