If by just living and interacting in society someone else gets oppressed, there is something to be done. Even when it is not your fault, it is your responsibility. This is part of the horrible disease called Patriarchy, just like some other religions this ideology or idiosyncrasy is brought to you by white men, and implemented by every European colonialist culture. Being aware of it is enough to make you want to vomit.
