Andy Wells was officially put in his place. Public pressure forced Premier Williams to announce today that Mayor Wells cannot start his tenure as chair of the PUB while he is still Mayor of St. John's!!!
Now, here's something to think about. If Wells accepts the position right away, he will have to leave City Council and force a by-election (which he was supposedly avoiding for the citizen's benefit). Seeing as his salary as Chair of the PUB is substantially more than that of the Mayor's salary, it will be very interesting to see what he does and exactly when he does it.
