I want to say something in regards to my car accident post. I am not blaming the man who was driving beyond the fact that he should have been more careful. I am blaming the society that we live in that is so based around cars that we can't even cross the street. I know I have felt like a fucking turtle sometimes trying to walk in this town, especially that I don't have a car now. I also blame the cops for not enforcing a speed limit in such a populated area. In Cleveland, the speed limit was 25 everywhere, and they meant it. Lastly, I blame the city for putting a busy street in the middle of such a popular area. In most every other city, it is either completely pedestrian or blocked off at night where their "strip" is. I was not trivializing rape, but instead making an analogy. The point of it was: can't we just be drunk and walk around? I mean it wasn't the guys fault he got hit just cause he was drunk outside A BAR! (just like its not the girls fault for getting raped). I hope my point is clearer, but I do not change my position.
