We left Pittsburgh Thursday at 6am. I instantly felt a little sick to my stomach. I don't know why I felt sick. It went away after we got halfway across the state. The trip didn't take that long. We got into my hometown at about 12:45. I called the house and my sister answered. She said Mom was out and would probably be busy all day. We had planned to have lunch together. Well I get there and my sister is cooking and I said "we are going to lunch, right?" So she put the food she was cooking away and we sat for a bit and I walked around the house and saw how much it had changed since the last time I was there. I gave my sister her gift which was an earthenware vase from Tiffany. She loved it and it now sits on the mantle in the living room filled with flowers *HAPPY*. Anyway Mom calls and said she can do lunch if she brings her clients along, but we can't 'know' they are clients. Well Alycia also had a friend that was there when we arrived. His name was Steven and he was a sweetheart. Well then her friend Sarah, who was at school also came over to say hi. Well we all ended up going to lunch together at this place a ways down the road called Jack River Smokehouse. Lunch was good and conversation was ok.
My Mom told me something..like one of those revelations that if you would have known at the time you would have been either scared or like felt differently..ok let me explain..when I was about 18 I had my own apartment..long story...anyway..I was very depressed and I wanted to hurt/kill myself in a way that was not painful...I knew that by mixing certain cleaning chemicals you could produce deadly fumes...like a poisonous gas...anyway I mixed toilet bowl cleaner with bleach and it caused such a reaction...well I didn't notice anything happening until I took deep breathe and it felt like my throat was on fire....I panicked and called my mom barely able to breathe...she immediately called the ambulance which came in about 5 minutes...I was whisked to the hospital where I was given this breathing thing to help me breathe and I was hooked up to a heart monitor and made to stay overnight and most of the next day...My Mom didn't know that I did it on purpose..and my sister was very scared and worried for me...anyway what I didn't know at the time and found out this past Thursday was that the doctor had said there was a good chance that I could have died...he said many people die because of the damage the chemical gas has caused...there have been so many times in my life when I should have died or had a very good chance of dying...I am still here and I know that I am here for a reason..I'm lost right now and I am scared...anyway....
We had lunch and wanted to go to the place next door called Country Junction for some ice cream, but they were closed for a private party...so we ended up going to a diner in town and got some ice cream...well we had yet to check into our hotel in Allentown...so we decided to take Alycia with us and go swimming in the pool the hotel had...Alycia's two friends decided to go home and mom took her too clients back...so we took Alycia home to get changed and I go to look at Mom's computer(which was behaving badly)..the computer is a mess...spy-ware and ad-ware and too many programs and a few viruses...she will have to take it somewhere to get it fixed...anyway we head to Allentown which is like a half an hour away and check into our hotel The Crowne Plaza...eh I wasn't impressed..we get to our room and there is a huge wet spot in front if the bathroom..so if you stepped in the wet spot which was impossible to avoid you would have slipped and fell in the bathroom...so we were moved to a new room...I liked the old room better...anyway the pool was like the size of half our living room which is small...and it had too much chlorine in it which made me cough...anyway...we decided to go to a movie and quickly got changed and headed out to the theater...
We saw Madagascar which was a good movie...I liked it but there were parts I didn't like..like most movies I watch...we headed home and it was like 10:30 or 11..all I know is it was late...we get home and everyone is in bed...mom came down and we talked for a bit about lots of things...some very depressing...she brought up me not having a job and that I should get one and that I need to get my life in order...I needed to hear it...anyway we left and came back to the hotel and went to bed...actually I couldn't sleep so I watched some TV I think
the next day Bruce got up at like 8 to have breakfast which was free... :-)...so I got up with him and we had breakfast then we came back to the room and I went back to bed and woke up at like 11:45 and showered then we headed out...the plan was to go to Jim Thorpe which has all these little shops...it was such a cute day...we went into all the little shops...we even went into a corset shop...we had lunch at a little restaurant called The Looking Glass...it had little Alice in Wonderland touches everywhere...the food was good..my sisters sandwich look so good...I had pasta and bruce had a sandwich...we left there and headed for moms house because it was like 5 and Alycia needed to be at school at 6 for graduation...so we all got ready and headed over to the school...
The ceremony was good...I got teary-eyed when I saw my sister in her cap and gown and when they called her name...they asked for all the parents to stand up and when mom stood up I got teary-eyed again...it was so great seeing my sister graduate...it was like the closing of a circle...or full-circle or however you want to say it...she saw me graduate and I got to see her graduate...I can't wait to see her get married..
After graduation we went out to dinner...It was Me-Bruce-Alycia-Mom-and Mr. and Mrs. Althouse...it was a great dinner and it was so nice seeing the Althouse's again..I miss them too...anyway we rush home so we can get Alycia to her 'all night' party at the Armory...we went back to our room and I watched some TV...lol Star Trek was on at like 1am...so I watched some of that....
The next day we got up and had breakfast and headed out around check-out time....we ended up going to Walmart to get some pictures developed from graduation and I made my sis a picture cd of some pics I had take while in Pittsburgh and such and then we headed to the house and decided to go to Alfies Pizza for lunch...BEST PIZZA IN TOWN and close to the best I have ever had...we took Alycia home afterwords and I said goodbye...Mom wasn't home but I had said goodbye to her the night before.
I did no want to leave and I miss home already. Lots of things have changed in the 7 years I have lived in Pittsburgh. My mom even commented on it not feeling like 7 years. I love my mom and sister. And I loved going home.
