Wet pwet, cold wet pwet.
Souvenier t-shirts to the first day of this year's World Pyro Olympics should read - WPO, I survived. While the fireworks were fantastic (Germany - Good, China - Great,) rain half dampened mood of the entire event.
As promised, the music did add that extra bit of ooomph to the performances. It allowed for the shows to have development within the parts, and really gave the explosions a pacing at which they would be better appreciated by the audience. The musical background also sets for you an emotional frame of mind in order to appreciate the show better, so its definitely a welcome addition to the competition.
It would have all been pretty awesome if it just hadn't rained. Between the somewhat diagonal rain (wind coming from in front of us, so yeah, cover with your umbrella and you'll block your view,) and the cascade of water from our banig, we were left with pretty much wet pwet. Rain also made it hard to record the fireworks above. It was annoying enough during the germany display, I gave up all tigetger when the rain grew stronger for (the fantastic) disply by china.
Being held in the area behind highstreet, within view of the home depot and the serendra apartments, you'd most probably be able to see the high-sky fireworks display from most anywhere in the fort. And while you'll still probable hear the music playing from the front area, you may miss out on the low-ground fireworks if you decide not to come into the grounds. Then again, that decision might keep you dry, so the decision is yours to make. Its an interesting show, in any case. Fully charge your batteries, bring an umbrella or two and prepare to be amazed.
