Chapter 2

The young man in bolero moves silently from entering the door to the main room. He catches his young master’s figure standing beside the window looking down with his bright charming smile on his face as he moves his way down to the room.

“You seem to enjoy your visit here quite much.” he said, as he walks closer to see what his master has been looking at for the whole afternoon. There he finds two girls sitting on the balcony, sipping their own tea, enjoying their time under the sun shine. He chuckles.

“Right...” the other man smiles sheepishly.

“Hm....” he mumbles as he looks down. “She is indeed beautiful.” he grins.

Prince Jeong Yoonho moves away from the window. “What do you think about her?”

“She is perfect. The lord did make a good choice for you. Ji Hyeon Princess is perfect for you.”

The man furrowed. “I would be much happier if he chose the other one.” he whispered slowly.

“You said something?”

The man turned again and smile. “No.... nothing. Maybe she is good for me.”

Prince Jeong Yunho, the heir of the Jeong kingdom from the neighbor empire, is a very gentle, calm, lovely, wise and perfect man. His wisdom generates him to know what and how to reach on each situation. Wisdom and justice are the main criterias to be a respected and loved king by his people. Therefore, prince Yunho has always been the aspiration for Kingdoms’ political marriage. Many Princesses come from far away land, having a hard and long journey to give gifts to Jeong Empire to ‘beg’ for a place beside him. Yunho has always hated a political marriage. He wants to marry an elegant Princess who can support him internally and externally, who is as wise as him, and the most importantly, whom he loves from the bottom of his heart. Yunho has refused so many proposal of political marriage with whatever reasons he could come up with. This time, unfortunately, he ran out of reason and Lord Jeong can no longer tolerate him. Because of family discussion, he was commanded to at least visit the neighbour kingdom and hold a friendship with Princess Ji Hyeon, the daugther of Lord Kim.

Prince Yunho smiles as he finds himself again for the nth time, looking out from the window, trying to catch her figure or voice even if he knows she would not be there. He shakes, moving away from his place, walking to the door. He decided he should have another night walk before he goes to sleep. He wonders why those green eyes captured his attention the whole afternoon and dinner time.

The Prince walks out slowly from his room, attempting not to make any noise, not wanting to have his maid following him around. He sneaks out slowly from his room, directing to the park. He is almost there, when suddenly the sound of piano notes attract his attention. He stands still, trying to absorb the beautiful melody played onto his ear. Soon, he realized he has been drawn into the beautiful music. Not too long after he finally sits down onto the park to enjoy the music, the sound stops. He opens his eyes abruptly, feeling disturbed. He knows where the music comes from, thus, he makes his way to the assumed room quickly.

“Joongie, aren’t you feeling sleepy?”

The soft and beautiful voice of her sister stops Jaejoong’s fingers from dancing any further. The ‘lady’ turns to the entrance and smiles.

“No, I am fine. You should be in the bed now, Ji Hyeon...” Jaejoong stands up from the seat and walks slowly toward her sister.

“I heard your music, it is so lovely, so I came to check you...” she chuckles as she starts to play the piano with her little fingers. “You know I have always loved to listen to your songs...It comforts me very much...”

Jaejoong smiles. “But I like it better when you play it for me...”

Ji Hyeon pouts. “But I cannot play it very well... You know, sometimes I envy you to be able to play it very well... I heard.. prince Jeong can also play piano...”

Jaejoong looks at his sister with unreadable face. “You can also play it very well, dear... You just never trust yourself... I have been telling you that you play it as good as I do for years...”

Ji Hyeon smiles then she turns to him. “You had always been so good to me, my sister... I am even older than you, but you have always taken care of me since we were kids.” she continues, eyes looking intensely into Jaejoong’s pair. Jaejoong can see sadness inside her eyes. Ji Hyeon moves closer to him, using the back of his hand, she brushes it over Jaejoong’s white cheek. “Dear, have you ever regretted?” she asked, voice stuttered.

Jaejoong quickly holds her hand. “No, Ji Hyeon, I have never regretted. I have always loved to take care of you. You are my most precious sister.” he said, and he means it.

Ji Hyeon laughs softly. “I love you, sister...” she said thankfully. “You also mean the world to me.”

Jaejoong blushes. “Are you thirsty dear? Do you want me to take some water?”

Ji Hyeon nods slowly. “We can have our newly grown wine, can we?”

Jaejoong rolls his eyes. “Only a bit, okay?”

His sister laughs. “Yes...”

“Stay here, I will be back...”

Ji Hyeon smiles as Jaejoong moves out from the room. She looks around and decides to play the piano. She brushes her finger lightly to each note and sighs. She is imagining herself and Yunho playing it together, but soon she shakes her head. It’s not possible .Then suddenly she heard something from the window. She turns; only to find the man she has always admired standing in front of her.

“Oh, I am so sorry princess.” he bows down politely. “I was just having a walk and coincidently pass your place and heard you playing piano.”

Ji Hyeon stuns for a while before she could gather her emotions back. She is too surprised. “Oh, I am sorry too if it disturbed you.” she quickly bows.

Yunho smiled. “No, it did not. I enjoyed it very much...” he smiles wider, showing his white and neat rows of teeth.

Ji Hyeon looks at him with her reddened face. He looks extremely gorgeous as ever. She moves from her seat, walking near the window. “Really? That’s good.. How was you first day in our small manor?” she understates.

Yunho chuckled. “No no, this place is huge and very nice. I like it. I enjoy my trip here, thanks to your kindness my Princess.”

Ji Hyeon blushes again as he mentioned ‘my’ even though she knows he does not mean it. “I am very happy to hear that my highness.”

They spend some time chatting about daily topics and they seem to enjoy it quite well even sometimes they laugh awkwardly. Jaejoong walks into the room slowly as he brings the two glass of wine and is surprised to find Yunho there. Yunho seems to realize his presence much faster than he thought, as he stops and turns to him completely as he enters the room. Yunho looks at him intensely, not wasting a second to turn away.

Ji Hyeon turns around to find Jaejoong with the glasses. She smiles. “Prince Yunho was happen to be around when I played the piano so badly and he stops by.” she explains as Jaejoong held confusion in his eyes. Meanwhile, Yunho’s eyes have not left him.

Jaejoong bows down in politeness and walks closer to join them. With Yunho around, he reminds himself not to speak. It was always easy, which led him to become amused with himself when he finds out he nearly speaks everytime Yunho brings him into their conversation. He has no idea why he was eager to talk to him as his sister did. Maybe because he is a good talker.....maybe....?
