Someone posted this elsewhere after last nights event at phoenix, I do agree with how shit the techies expertise and attitudes towards their job was. Fuck I used to do better in high shcool with no formal training. Can also see why there's rumours about how phoenix is closing down/changing to a regular norm club...
Just shut the fuck up and get along the lot of you.
If you know a venue owner make sure they talk to a bands manager before they book them so they know what to expect stage show wise. If you are a sound techie and a band's volume is all fucked, it's your job to fix it, they can't fucking hear it on stage.
If you're running an event and are worried about the intermission music for bands do some fucking research, don't play metal and wonder why the goths have all gone for cigarettes, or wonder why the punks straight up leave when you play post-hardcore.
Don't cry and moan about it behind the bands back either, say something to them if you don't like their stage show, if they walk off, it's your fault for booking the wrong fucking band for your venue.
Now as far as clubs go, there are some high turnover clubs with no venues. AND venues going broke. The only issue you have is the music differences. You think maybe once a month you might not play your sort of music and let another club use your venue? you'll get new clientele and build interest in your venue... oh and it might stop you from going broke... that might be good... you know...
God. And stop fucking hating each other, scene kids like scene music, get over it, goths dislike metal, get over it, metalheads headbang and are loud, get over it.
JUST GET THE FUCK OVER YOURSELVES AND GIVE THE MUSIC A FUCKING CHANCE. SOME PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN GOING OUT TO HAVE FUN, YOUR RETARDED POLITICS ARE FUCKING THIS UP FOR EVERYONE.
