I Demand My Return If Proven Competent
Today I shall have something to get off my chest...
I spent much of yesterday trying to apply for a vacancy in any internet cafe, and naturally most of them turned me down because there's no place for me even for so much experience and expertise I had.
Then I decided to visit the place where I had thought I would be set for life, and there I finally met my replacement.
He's a 21-year-old kid who's a nursing undergrad.... and he's gonna run this internet cafe as the tech guy.
WTF?!
Worse, judging from the wallpaper he slapped onto the server I once used, as well as what he's browsing, I said to myself, "Fuck, this dweeb is set to do nothing but think about Internet sex all day and download Naruto hentai wallpaper."
There I spent three hours on the Net, paid him P45.00 (about $0.90) and before I left I sternly warned him, "Kid, you make sure that you take care of these machines properly and professionally because I suffered to tweak these PCs to make every gamer happy. Now if I ever come back here and discover that you screw them up to the point of unusability, I will have your stupid ass shipped back to Manila."
Well, as of now, while I keep myself from trying to touch one of those machines, I have an uncle who will negotiate on my behalf with the people there to put me back, convince them that I am worthy of being employed there. I am even willing to negotiate for a lower daily percentage of my wage, like say a 5% off the original percentage.
The last thing I want is a masterpiece of management and technology that is about to be destroyed in no time... and I've seen too many businesses like these, even with huge financial backing, die because of professional incompetence.
Now I have something to say about before I go: a successful enterprise for a LAN gaming joint depends on professionalism, experience, expertise and continuity. Have none of these and I say your business will die stupid before you succeed.
