Flags and banners of the Mithril at half-mast. Damn, just as FMP on Hero TV is currently underway. Condolences to his family. :(

Opinion
Lately, online games are doubling in size and processing power requirements as their sophistication grows, and they're also becoming numerous, with MMOG operators offering dozens of games. This led to me to the realization that Duron machines with 256MB of memory, 64MB of video card memory, 40GB or even 80GB hard disks aren't gonna cut it anymore; 160GB is going to be the norm for all computer rental shops.

Even some regular applications are obviously demanding more. For example, back then Norton Antivirus 2001 works well even with only 128MB of memory, but now AVG8 demands about 64MB for itself. Also, Yahoo Messenger 8 and 9 asks for about 110MB to operate properly, but could grow if the user opens a lot of chat windows, voice chat and several webcam screens.

Damn, isn't a pain in the ass that upgrade hell always happens (and people are demanding more bandwidth than I do)? You can bet it does.
