For those of you who are familiar with the Macintosh hardwares... I have the opportunity to buy a mac desktop that has been decommissioned by my company. The computers they sell are "refurbished", you can get a warranty for them, and they clean them up pretty nice ( Read more... )

I soooo would not do this. So you can't drop 3000 bucks...how about 2000? Have you looked at the refurbished modern computers on Apple's website? I know it's tempting, but this computer is not going to run worth a shit with Leopard...it's not a great Tiger experience either. Don't.

Dude, there's a refurbished 20" iMac up there, 2.0GHz Core2Duo, for 1049 plus tax. Get some 3rd party ram from Newer or somewhere and bump that 1GB up to 2GB and you are all set.

It's the 20" *aluminum* iMac...not the older white plastic one.
