Shibusen's guest-specific class modules are under construction right now, please bear with us for a moment.

Can anyone in Death City go to class?
Yes!

When and where are classes?:
Classes are usually scheduled once per in-game day, twice a real-life week.

While regular classes will always be at the same time in-game, there is no specific time they will be posted in real-time due to the actual lives of moderation and NPC players.

Where classes take place is dependent on the teacher and the subject matter that is being taught. Stein often teaches in the classroom, while Mifune prefers to train technicians outdoors. The location of the class will be made clear to players when it's announced, so feel free to jump right in as soon as you see the post!

How is attendance taken?:
Since Shibusen isn't your average school, they don't take your average attendance.

Who is and isn't present is decided by the teacher at the end of class, not by a list- this ensures that all students participate in class. As long as your characters make their presence known by interacting with the teacher or each other, they will be counted as present.

Those who post once in the class list, and simply 'sleep' the entire time will not be given a mark for attendance- so don't even try it!

Why go to class?
To learn, of course! Characters who have gone to class will be able to master their forms faster, more easily control their power and become true technicians.

While most schools consider learning the most important reason to attend class, Shibusen considers it just as important to meet your peers. Going to class is a great way to familiarize yourself with other students, hone your abilities as a weapon or meister and form partnerships.

Another added bonus of going to class is forming relationships with the Shibusen faculty, who are more willing to answer questions and assist those who are making an effort. Technicians who have made a habit of attending class will be considered first for important missions, tasks and jobs.

Students who show excellent attendance and class participation may be asked to become teacher's assistants, a paid position.

Who are the teachers?:
Take a good look at the shibusen faculty and death scythes here, and there's your answer. While Stein and Mifune are the most well-known teachers at Shibusen, they don't always have the time (or experience) to teach every class.

When necessary, NPC Shibusen technicians may be asked to help with a lesson and will be noted by teachers at the beginning of class.

How do classes work?
Due to numerous factors, it was impractical to hold a log for every class - especially considering the amount of attending characters and how long it would take to finish a single class.

In the future there will most likely be a log for exams or major training sessions, but on a day to day basis, expect an open class post.

A teacher will make a post in the soul_campaign community, detailing the location of the class. The basic lesson of the class will be explained, sometimes with an example.

Students comment to the post as if they are in the classroom environment with the teacher. They can interact with each other, directly question the teacher or be asked questions themselves. Talk to your fellow students, discuss the course material and the lesson.

Threadhopping is ENCOURAGED. Just like in a real classroom, butting into another person's conversation or answering a student question is all part of realistic interaction.

How long are classes?
Classes do have a beginning and an end - They last for the entirety of the in-game day in which they are posted. If your characters wish to continue discussing, they can arrange to meet outside of class.

Likewise, you cannot post your character into class when it is over. If you miss a class, you miss a class. Exceptions may be made for players on hiatus who wish their characters to have attended (The character will be considered present, but still unallowed to post or reply to threads once the class is over.)

Are there classes on weekends?
The simple answer to that is no, there are no classes on in-game Saturdays and Sundays. If characters wish to train or study on the weekend, they are welcome to do so on their own or form a study group.

Any further questions or suggestions about classes may be made to this page!
