Chase had been studying the city.

It was what he did, whenever he encountered something he was unfamiliar with: he learned everything about it that he could, provided it interested him. A city that stole his powers, locked him in human form, and then told him he could wield a very specific type of weapon - that being a person transformed - was ... well, it was one form of interesting. Infuriating was another good word for it.

After a while, though, books only got so far. Therefore, once the mortifying sun had set and the equally mortifying moon had risen, he took to the rooftop of a building near the Communal and simply surveyed the city in its darker, shadowed, and infinitely colder form ( ... )

Cold wasn't something Rai necessarily liked himself, being from a place like Rio. He at least had the mind to wear something covering most his face so the cold wouldn't bite too hard as he ran and jumped across another roof.

It didn't take too long for him to feel someone following him. Most would write that off as paranoia, but Rai knew better, Tiger Instincts or not.

He didn't stop, or acknowledge the presence, but instead continued his way to the school only now, he decided to take a far more complicated route. He then continued jumping across the balconies and escapes along that street until a dead-end, where he used a railing as a vault and jumped to the next level of the city.

That was one way to get around this incorrigible city - or lose someone tailing you. Chase wasn't so easily put off, and he followed swiftly, keeping to the darker shadows in order to avoid being seen, though if his ever-growing suspicions were right, sight wasn't going to be the problem. He followed the hooded figure until the dead end street, at which point he leaped - hurled himself up with all the strength he had toward the nearest building ( ... )

Rai already had a good idea who was following him by now. Anyone that was still trying to follow him after that had to be pretty good and pretty interested. There were only a few people he could think of that fit that description and only one of them was here. Now, whether that interest was to chat or wring his neck was up for debate.

Alright. He could play this game. It wasn't hard to make an easy trip to the school into something far more complicated with the layout of this city. Let's just see how well Chase Young could keep up.
