Every day that he got to run, Prussia felt better. Whether it was with West or his partner, it was just a lot of fun to go outside and work out again. Even training the children made him feel...well, useful. He wanted to quickly get back to his old life and show the world just how awesome he was!

Well, the world should have known that by now, anyway. BUT STILL.

He flopped down next to his brother after filling himself a cup (with a cute chick design, of course) of water and let out a noise that announced how peaceful he felt.

"I could still run for miles if I wanted to, ya know," he replied with a shaky breath. He reached for the bread, recognizing the stomach that was growling with such awesome force. Never underestimate the stomach of a german...!

In the first place, brother, you weren't supposed to teach the kids! That is Kanada's job! You are there to be trained! With the kids!

"I'm certain you could," he said obligingly, more prone to agreeing to Preussen's ridiculous claims by now instead of contradicting them like the usual. Although he still often contradicted him… when he was overly stupid… this was tame. That was all. Germany was not losing his senses at all!

Peacefully, he bit more into his wurst and chewed.

Don't be ridiculous, West! Don't be ridiculous!

"We should try for it!" He bothered, poking Germany with his newly acquired fork. "It isn't that hard, right? Not for the likes of us, kesesese!"

But first, wurst. Delicious wurst... you're so good to mankind.

His brother was bordering on ridiculous-and-Germany-can't -ignore-it… No! No! Germany was going to be strong! He took in a face of serenity and calmly ate his wurst.

"Perhaps," he finally said. "You still have a match set with your citizen." The only citizen Preussen had that wasn't also Germany's. "We can try a marathon after you have gone up against him. So that you are not strained. When is your match?"

It was at that moment, that something small leaped out of the bushes and landed on Germany's lap. Immediately it began to devour the bread with the vigor of someone who hadn't eaten in several days.

The creature was small, green with a white underbelly, and pink flowers on both sides of its face. It resembled a hedgehog, or something of the sort, but it was still quite strange. Hungrily, it ate, until the bread in Germany's hand was gone.

The creature was also Prussia's new BFF.

"W-west! T-that...I've seen it! On the network!"

Germany, on the other hand, had frozen in horror at the creature that had pounced on him. He had enough presence of mind not to fling it away, or worse, attack it, but that only meant that he didn't move either as it devoured his bread.

His bread!

"What are you!" he asked (in his usual growl), "And why are you stealing my food!"

Preussen, naturally, went ignored.

The sound coming from Germany terrified the creature, and it jumped out of his lap and scampered back into the bushes. "Miiiiin!"

"Fufufu, little creature. Why would we do such a thing like that?" Prussia turned to look at West with ONE OF THOSE LOOKS, and then back at the bush. "In fact, it seems you're the one that wants to taste this delicious german food, right?"

He inched the fork a little closer for the cautious creature.

Germany refrained from saying anything to the contrary, and only agreed. "I am not interested in eating unknown meat, yes. If you want more food, we have other items in the sack."

So maybe it was a little endearing. In the strange ways Italien could be, maybe? Not really... Italien was special.

So neither human wanted to eat it. That was good. The animal began inching its way out of the bushes hesitantly. It glanced from Prussia to Germany before it nibbled at the wurst. Well, they had delicious food, at least.

"You guys are really big! You better not be lying."

Heaven.

"A-ah...nein..." Prussia was totally entranced. Forever.

That was a possibility. It did not seem nor act like it was a native to the city, and none of the animals here had ever been able to talk. Germany observed the creature for a moment, watching it eat and watching Preussen try to pet it. His brother….

"Perhaps it is poisonous," he theorizes, noting the generally… grassy appearance it had. Was that a bush on its back?

It was nice to be petted. After a few strokes, the animal moved closer to Prussia, so that he could get a better view. Indeed, the tiny thing seemed to be made of grass, at least on its back. And there were those flowers. It was soft, delicate.

"I most certainly am not!" it said, turning up its nose at Germany's comment. "I can take poison away!"

"Ya hear that, West? It can take poison away." When the thing got closer, Prussia tried to stifle a gasp. Right now! He needed a plushie of this creature right now! ...whatever this flower hedgehog thing was. He wondered if he could find one. "Did you come from here, um, whatever your name is?"

Now that... Germany looked at the creature with interest, coming forward and peering at it from over Preussen's shoulder. "How do you take poison away?" he inquired. Perhaps it could be useful. That was not unlikely, if only it did not distract Preussen so.

"Ash?" the creature said, suddenly lifting its head up and wearing a look of recognition. "You know Ash? I know Ash! Ash is here, too!" Shaymin scampered away from Prussia and followed after Germany. It was very quick, almost at his side in an instant.

Prussia's heart broke into many pieces. No! Little flower come back! "Y-yeah, he's here! S-so what?"

Damn you, Ash of the Sun, stealing all of the cute ones away! Damn you! At least let Prussia have this one. He quickly chased after the creature, determined to try to win its heart once more!

Germany didn't do anything! thebestandwurst May 18 2010, 13:58:35 UTC
It was strange to talk to something that was the same height as his ankle, so Germany bent down and promptly picked the creature up, supporting it against his manly chest. "Yes, Ash Ketchum is here. Have you spoken to him?"

Shaymin flailed a bit, since it was suddenly picked up without warning. But when Germany didn't hurt it, it was able to relax in his arms. "I did! Ash was in the little box!"
