EAST OF SHIBUSEN - round 2. caution_taped March 13 2010, 17:53:03 UTC
What the hell was wrong with these people?

Why wouldn't they just die so he could go kill the ones his blood really burned for.

The North side hadn't gone well, the little bastards there had put up resistance - and Adachi wasn't in the mood to split hairs. He wanted inside, and he wanted it now. The mountain of shadows surrounding his body was still ridiculous in size, putting him almost at the height of the building - but there were deep gashes in the blob that burned a sickening hue of scarlet. In order to fill them, size would sacrificed to maintain a solid form.

Angry and desperate, he struck again - this time with a giant shadow fist that actually shattered the wall it struck and sank into the first room on the other side. Far too small for Adachi to fit in, but the scent of his bait seemed to leak out from the hole - and he swelled with bloodlust.

Rhode was examining the axe she'd been given while she waited for something to happen; it was rather interesting to imagine what someone could do to a person with it, and she had a very slight smile on her face at her imaginings. Maybe an axe wasn't so bad after all. She would just have to get used to the weight of it.

There was noise and bother about the battle starting on another side of the place, but she wasn't very concerned about it. They wouldn't let anyone without a stupid person-as-a-weapon really get in on the fight, anyways. They were just a last-ditch effort, if it came down to disaster.

When she finally saw him-- it-- come around the corner, Rhode was surprised at how impressive his size was. Of course, she'd seen Level 4 and other big monstrosities, but this was just ridiculous. Rhode glanced down at her useless axe again, letting out an irritated sigh.

"Well, this is just typical--" She was interrupted by his attack on the building, and she started moving rather quickly in an attempt to avoid any debris.

"An axe. ( ... )

"..." He waved the gigantic blade he was holding. "Not the best choice, I say. Just hack at him."

Not being able to see the enemy was hardly a blessing in disguise; it only served to make him all the more aware of what he was up against. Huge, indeed. The oppressive pressure from Adachi almost felt as though it was coming off in waves. And the one thing Hirohiko could come up with in response would be to retaliate, handicapped as he might be, to shave off some of that oppressiveness.

Ignoring the fighters on the walls on this side for now, Adachi retracted the fist and this time, dozens of arm-like appendages drilled their way into the hole, clawing and ripping away at the buildings structure in an attempt to dig his way in.

The further he got, the more he could smell what he was after.

He registered the attack from Hirohiko, but only just barely. There was something of a "Tch." before a shadow tentacle lashed out at him, still far more focused on the wall.

Well, damn. The floor was shaking. He really, really wished he could manifest his own weaponry right now. Jumping, he swung the blade in the tentacle's direction, trying to catch hold of something to stabilize himself all the while.

Was this thing still trying to attack him?

Attention successfully gotten, Adachi turned now to the peon swiping away at him and sent one large, fist-shaped shadow down to crush Hirohiko.

Another fist? How unoriginal. He had to admit that it worked, though, and were it not for the strike he'd met the shadow with, there would certainly be a Hirohiko-shaped stain on the building.

One second the enemy spent with him was one second for others to use, and while he wasn't selfless to such an extent, this was crucial if they were going to accomplish anything here.

Rhode hung back, watching the shadow-creature as that man-- What was his name, again?-- tried to attack it. Her weapon certainly wasn't going to be much use, but she wasn't going to just run with all these people around.

She would just wait, and watch, and take her chance when it came. When one of its arm-ish pieces came close enough, she would put all her strength into that silly axe. She certainly didn't think it could actually cut anything off, but putting a notch in the thing might accomplish at least a small thing.

Taiwan was use to the heat of battle but she wasn't use to being in an actual battle. As new as the idea of fighting is, she was more than ready to assist people.

She wouldn't not going to let Adachi win, she was sure she was going make him pay for what he did to those people. She was optimistic and she wanted to find another way to calm him down without killing him. However, if that's what they have to do, so be it.

As soon as her partner and herself were in place, she was nervous as to what was going to happen.

What a hot little meal.

His first impulse was to grab it, a large fist swinging down towards Taiwan and her partner- fingers open and ready to grasp the small girl.

His second impulse was to squeeze tight.

His third was to pop her into his mouth- she looked like she would taste sweet.

Oh, no you don't. If there's anything Reimu knows, it's how to avoid attacks, and a single fist is an easy target.

Reimu pulled sharp to one side to dodge the incoming hand. When that wasn't quite enough, she spun Taiwan around as fast as she could, cuttiing into Adachi's palm like a buzzsaw to keep it at bay long enough to escape.
