Description: Showdown with Shadow Reimu and some character development!
Reimu had reluctantly given up on searching the fog, but the presence of her Shadow changed that. She wasn't going to put up with that thing pretending to be her, safety and common sense be damned. Of course, she didn't have any more of a clear idea of where to look, other than "outside." Thus, she was relying on her intuition to guide her, which was doing a great job of getting her fairly lost.
"I was wondering when I'd come looking for myself." Fortunately, or possibly unfortunately, this didn't make much of a difference, as Shadow Reimu was eager to meet herself. Her figure faded in through the fog, looking uncharacteristically smug.
"There you are!" Reimu never was fazed much by dramatic posturing. Improvised staff in hand (the broom from her closet had been disassembled for this purpose), she turned to face her shadow. "I don't really know what's going on, but you're obviously some kind of youkai, so you should hurry up and be defeated."
"Youkai? Don't be ridiculous." Shadow Reimu advanced slowly, unarmed but looking very confident. "I'm you. The only difference is that I'm being honest about your hating all youkai. None of this vague tolerance nonsense; I'm just going to exterminate them all, like you want to."
Reimu had stopped listening a while ago. Was this really supposed to be complicated? There's an enemy, so all she had to do was defeat it. Without prolonging the conversation, she charged, swinging the staff at Shadow Reimu's shoulder.
Unfortunately, Reimu had everything working against her in this encounter. Reimu wasn't trying her hardest, while Shadow Reimu was. Reimu was weakened by the fog, while Shadow Reimu wasn't. Most importantly, though, she hadn't accepted the Shadow as part of her self, so it couldn't lose. In short, it wasn't long before Reimu was knocked hard to the ground, Shadow Reimu standing over her, having taken her staff during the process.
