[Having a free evening as usual, Sai decided to check out this mystery 'arcade' place that Takuto apparently worked at.

But now that he is here, he is just stood inside the entrance staring at everything. What are you meant to do here exactly?]

[Takuto is so pleased that his friend decided to come out to the arcade. He waves to him from behind the counter.]

Sai! Welcome to the Triple A!

[He recognizes that voice instantly, turning around to wave at his friend before walking towards him.]

I had nothing to do so I thought I would come and see what an Arcade looks like.

[He shrugs, still beaming.] Well, this is what it looks like. You want some tokens so you can play some games? [He leans over the counter a little, raising an eyebrow conspiratorially.]

Seeing as you're free, and it's fun, and fun things make people happy. [Because Sai knows what Takuto thinks he should be doing in his free time.]

[He takes a look at Takuto, then over to some of the machines, then back to his friend]

Tokens? Is that some form of currency? [He has absolutely no comprehension of what kind of games these machines play, but since he is here he may as well try it out.]

I will have a try.

Tokens are the coins used to play the arcade games. You have to exchange Death Dollars for tokens. Here, give me a dollar.

[He holds out a hand and readies four tokens.] You'll be able to play two or three games with four tokens, depending on the game you choose.

[Taking out a dollar, he hands it over.]

What is the purpose of playing these games? [Because somebody just doesn't understand the concept of doing it merely for fun]

I can't remember if this is really how the Triple A works... OTL but w/e gingaprettyboy January 28 2012, 05:31:34 UTC
[He slides the tokens across the counter.] Well, for starters they're pretty fun, but you can also win cool prizes!

[He gestures behind himself, to the wall with stuffed animals, party favors, somewhat cheap-looking guitars, and the like. There's also a basket of cool pens and pencils.] If you do well at the games, you'll get points back, and you can always redeem the points for prizes. Of course, the best prizes cost more points.

[Listening to the explanation, he takes a look at the prizes covering the counter and shelves.]

I see. [He isn't sure that he actually needs any of those prizes? But Takuto seems enthusiastic about this so he will go and try out one of these games and try to collect tokens.]

Which game do you recommend?

I think that is our motto (also this is totally my favorite arcade game, too) gingaprettyboy January 29 2012, 00:36:11 UTC
[Takuto's favorite game by far is...]

Virtual On.

[And wow is that smile of his radiant.]

[Walking up to that game, Sai looks at it for a moment, reading the screen.

Then looking down, he spots the slot to insert a token into so he does so before looking back to Takuto]

So what happens now?

You sit there, watch the screen, and use the joysticks to control it. It's kind of a fighting game.

[It's a fighting game. With mechas. They do look a little different than cybodies, but it's still Takuto's favorite game because he imagines it must be what it was like for the Star Drivers that didn't have real marks. And it's kind of a silly game that oddly reminds him of home.]

Hmm..

[ the game loads up.. but he has no idea what he is doing so ends up pretty much mashing buttons until he loses the game.]

..... it is over?

You've got two more rounds. And it will be unless you can defeat the other mecha.

[Sai, this is pretty funny, actually. It's probably a good thing Takuto hasn't given into the urge to sit down in the seat next to him and become his opponent. Maybe if Sai gets better at the game, they'll play versus mode.]

I suggest trying to figure out what the controls actually do.

Hmmm

[so this controls the forwards and backwards... this makes it jump... this can hit... soon enough he has the basic controls figured out.

Playing the second round, things were a lot better, but he still lost.]

[He winces and gasps and cheers at all the right places, and then makes an apologetic noise when Sai loses.]

One more round.

[He wants to keep watching, but he really should get back to the counter....]
