Takuto and Aion arrived shortly after the struggle started to become nasty. The resident forces were fighting a brave battle but more and more kishin eggs managed to break through their defensive line and wherever they did blood started to dye the streets a slippery red.
Seeing that the fight was already going at full force, the Sinner wasted no time tossing the redhead his regular sword as he jumped into the air. A few powerful beats of his wings brought him up high enough to get a good view of the place and within moments he had his rifle at the ready and began shooting bullets into the next-best kishin eggs. He knew that they wouldn't be able to stop them for good with only this much but it would hinder their movement and give his meister a chance to get close to them and finish them quickly.
"Takuto! Get ready! We'll take them out the moment this magazine's empty!" Unlike during the other fights his voice and expression was nothing but grim - this reminded him too much of what had happened when the Pursuers had caught up to Eden than that he could have enjoyed this carnage.
"Right!" Takuto pressed into the fray immediately, gritting his teeth at the Kishin eggs who had invaded the city. His boots slipped across the bloodied streets, but he began hacking angrily at them without wasting any time. He was severely off-balance without another weapon, but he couldn't bring himself to care.
There were very few things that could make Takuto truly angry, and even fewer things that could make him behave in a rather ruthless fashion. This battlefield filled with bodies... this was one of them.
Aion's expression turned light and hint of a thrilled smile tugged at his lips as he watched Takuto enter the fray like an angry demon, hacking and slaying mercilessly while ignoring his own impediment. Maybe he had chosen to entertain the right Meister after all, not just a temporary fill-in. Fueled by those thoughts, the demon quickly emptied the remaining bullets he had into the crowd of kishin eggs.
Diving down, he called a short "Takuto!" before changing into his Weapon form which was humming eagerly with his wavelength. At the three kishin eggs had snuck up on Takuto, closing in on him from different sides and ready to strike.
he *is* the right meister and you know it~ <3gingaprettyboyJanuary 3 2012, 02:51:53 UTC
Takuto caught Aion right out of the air, his wavelength running high and harsh. He didn't waste any time, turning Aion's momentum from the free-fall into a quick horizontal spin, snagging a piece of the closest Kishin egg. The rest fell back a short distance.
A second later Takuto was leaping at them, hoping to drive them back. There were still innocent people trying to get out of the city. He didn't want to let a single Kishin egg past him, even though he was already surrounded on all sides.

The demon reacted by making the double-revolving cylinder of the revolver-like part of the gunblade spin, drawing upon the youth's soul and forming bullets of blazing soul energy out of it. It was something that he was very familiar with, even tough channeling it with his own body as the weapon felt strange and the bullets were a lot more and smaller than the projectiles he himself tended to summon up when he wanted to create a ranged-attack in his fighting form.
"Ready whenever you are. Fire away."
In the meantime the kishin egg that had gotten hurt and fallen to the ground, it's comrades simply leaping over it in their greed to get fresh souls.
stop playing so hard to get. XPgingaprettyboyJanuary 3 2012, 03:29:09 UTC
Takuto's skill with a gun was nowhere near his skill dual-wielding swords, but he was plenty familiar with the uses of long-range weapons. And he'd done some training in Death City with guns.
The Kishin eggs were plentiful and close enough that it was going to be pretty hard to miss.
He yelled as he fired, his angry desperation making it a wordless cry rather than the usual attack-naming. He dashed forward to engage a Kishin egg with the sword, shooting again at a new monster on his other side.
'getting' him comes with a pretty hefty prize /DcommandorkingJanuary 3 2012, 04:04:09 UTC
Two kishin eggs fell and dissolved right away as the shots hit them and several others were staggering back injured from less crucial shots. Some even turned to look for easier victims but there were still at least five of them left and none of them looked like they were thinking about giving up on the weapon and meister. The first of them engaged Takuto head-on as he rushed it, its comrade attacking from the side. At the same time a third came up from behind.
... do I want to know what the prize is?gingaprettyboyJanuary 3 2012, 04:40:23 UTC
He spun at the call from his weapon, angling the blade for a clean cut across the Kishin egg. He swung the other blade in the other direction, letting out a small yelp of surprise as it clanged against something solid. The Kishin egg had blocked his strike with an arm that looked more like a shield.
He'd better take this one more seriously. He pivoted on a heel and brought his swords across it, first the plain one to knock it off balance and then Aion for a hit at whatever opening the first sword provided. He didn't even notice he was yelling again.

Aion gritted his teeth as the feeling of clashing weapons washed over him like grating nails against a blackboard, flinching lightly but staying strong. The new attack managed to go past the kishin eggs defense, but once more it reacted quickly and evaded a deadly strike.
"Takuto. Don't forget about the other ones." The demon was oddly calm despite the danger they were in. "Tell me when you want to borrow my power." He had managed to tear the previous kishin eggs to peaces, he would be able to do it again.
...er. oh. Takuto would like to keep all of his mind, thank you. ^_^;gingaprettyboyJanuary 3 2012, 07:28:58 UTC
Takuto only nodded at Aion's reminder. He didn't think he wanted to borrow that power again, since they were neck-deep in Kishin eggs and if he collapsed suddenly from exhaustion there was no doubt in his mind what would happen. Then again, Aion had remained fine last time. Fine enough to carry him, even....
He focused on the battle at hand, retreating from the difficult Kishin egg to deal with the other, less-armored monsters. He danced under an attacking arm of one, cut another across its midsection, and then crossed Aion and the plain sword in front of him to block another attack. The fighting was getting trickier, and the battlefield was thick with enemies.
then he better never tries to get bossy. :PcommandorkingJanuary 3 2012, 07:47:49 UTC
Aion observed with appreciation as the kishin eggs kept coming just to be felled and as the pavement of the street was staring to get more and more slick with blood and other substances. They were still getting driven back, but at least they were delaying the advancement of the kishin eggs respectably, even at the cost of their own safety.
Keeping an eye out for new attacks from behind, he realized that they were in the process of getting separated from the rest. "We have to retreat for about ten to fifty meters. Keep in shout or at least viewing range of the others." Despite his words as a strategic his soul's wavelength was humming like the engine of a Jaguar, waiting to be fully unleashed and damn the consequences.
or maybe Aion should just not make people go crazy instead.gingaprettyboyJanuary 3 2012, 09:56:00 UTC
Takuto glanced back towards the actual front line, realizing only then that Aion was right--they were very deep into the mass of invading Kishin eggs. He grit his teeth. He wasn't ready to give any ground, even if the Kishin eggs were swarming around him.
He could tell Aion wasn't ready to back down, either. He spun with the swords out, clearing a small space, and then quickly swapped Aion and the plain sword to keep one arm from being overtaxed by the extra weight of the gunblade. He glanced towards the townspeople's barricade... and turned his back to it. His wavelength began to match Aion's, pulsing with a fierce determination. Takuto was the Galactic Pretty Boy, and he would get rid of every last Kishin egg himself if that was what it took.
He planted his feet firmly, staring down the ring of monsters around them. "Aion, I'm ready to use that power again."

"Takuto?" His voice sounded ever so mildly worried when the boy ignored his words and instead turned his back to where they should go, but then turned frantic when the Weapon realized what was going on. Takuto was trying to use his powers again and before he could make a decision to deny him he could already feel how their resonance reacted to the demand and just let Takuto have it, ignoring his conscious will. For a moment the Sinner panicked and his voice gained a shrill edge as he could feel the same something happen as had during their fight with the fairy-like kishin egg. Dammit, dammit, dammit, it was out of his control-!!
lol, I feel like the mission is mirroring this conversationgingaprettyboyJanuary 4 2012, 04:43:14 UTC
It was too late. Even if Takuto had wanted to stop, the extra energy was already flowing into him like all the radiance of a galaxy and he couldn't let it go.
"Stay with me," he answered, his voice low with determination as his grip tightened on the weapon. "We're going to do this."
He leaped forward, his first blow to a Kishin egg cutting it entirely in half. He didn't slow or hesitate for a moment, blasting a line through the invading monsters.
Aion groaned silently. As if he had a choice! The first attacks went well, but unlike Takuto he knew that the rushing power came with a prize and he also had a pretty good idea about how long (or rather: short) the enhancement in power would last them before it became too much for Takuto,if the length of the boost and Takuto's following exhaustion during their last mission were any safe parameters.
"You have to hurry!"
He didn't bother to hide the urgency in his voice this time, feeling once more not very inclined to lose his guinea-meister just because the redhead was acting stupid.
At the same time the kishin eggs kept coming, climbing over their felled comrades and even going as far as hurting each other in their greed to get this easy prey.
he'll probably collapse in my next tag? I want him to end with a flourish, though, lol.gingaprettyboyJanuary 4 2012, 07:30:40 UTC
Aion's worry wasn't entirely lost on Takuto. Their situation did seem pretty desperate, but Takuto had been in desperate situations before, and he had always come out on top. He believed in his victory already, and even if he didn't, every Kishin egg they took down during this assault was one less Kishin egg harming someone else.
Simply put, protecting the world was a job Takuto took very seriously and couldn't turn his back on.
He slashed and cut and spun, beating them back and drawing on the phenomenal strength from Aion. He really did feel as if he could conquer anything.
