Characters: OPEN Location: All around Death City Rating: G Time: 11:59pm, 31st December Description: The countdown is drawing near! In with the new and out with the old they say! Where will you be when the new year rolls in?
[Shuurei is bundled up in a pink cloak with fuzzy white trim and is carrying her erhu as she looks through the stalls. She spots some white hair that looks somewhat familiar-the boy that she had met in front of the mission board-and goes over to say hello.]
So, New Year's celebrations are held at shrines where you come from? There would be fireworks sometimes but firecrackers were more common in Saiunkoku.
Sorry for the lateness!flowering_teaNovember 30 2011, 04:20:02 UTC
I see. In my country, it was usual to visit relatives and friends at the New Year. And officials would appear before the Emperor to offer their greetings. [The last time she had celebrated a new year, she had made a long trip back to the capital to offer greetings as the co-governor of Sa Province.]
Well, the firecrackers were also said to scare away evil spirits where I came from.
I suppose that would be less expensive. [Of course, being the thrifty person she is, Shuurei thinks of the cost advantage.] Uncle Kurou didn’t live in the capital although he visited during the last new year back home. [Actually Shuurei didn’t know many of her relatives since her father had been kicked out of the clan for declining to be the leader.] Mostly, it was our friends who visited.
Sorry for the delay! Was writing until the last minute for my app. ._.;flowering_teaDecember 19 2011, 05:02:39 UTC
[nods] It's nice to celebrate with friends at the New Year. Last year, I cooked a feast and we had a party in the archives. It's strange to think that I'm spending a New Year in a place with only one of my friends from home. [She wondered if everyone was okay back home although she had been told that she should return to the moment she left when sent back by BREW.]

But most of the people I've met here have been nice.
