He'd been writing up his new class lesson and dusting out his old classroom all day, keeping away from the Guests in a secluded area. It was getting more and more difficult to deal with them these days; since he couldn't leave the city without an escort, hiding inside of it was the best bet.
But all of these damn Guests had been coming in and out all day. Apparently, someone'd seen him in the school, and four or eight of them came to pester him about his class, when the day was, how long it'd be, what it'd be on -- all simple questions he had already answered.
Finally, they'd all gone. He scribbles another note, lighting a cigarette. Hmm. All looks good.
The door opens, but just slightly, just barely, and he raises an eyebrow, glancing over.
"....What are you doing?" Why is she on the ground like that?

Oops! Looked like someone was already in here. For a moment Nepeta froze, until she realized who it was.
Most people would probably only be further unnerved at the sight of the eccentric doctor, but Nepeta fondly remembered how he had been there when Spirit had come to cheer her up. If Spirit liked and trusted Stein, then Nepeta knew she could too so the alarmed expression quickly and easily slid into a smile.
Nepeta, fortunately had yet to get involved in any shenanigans involving Excalibur. Had she people might have witnessed the phenomena of a pissed off Nepeta. Not even someone like her had the patience to deal with that...thing. She smiles and then goes right to that, narrating very quietly under her breath and returning to stalking across the ground, practically flat on the ground.
"It was here in the Briar Cliff that the furst of the ingredients that she needed could be found. The kaffir lily, the most rare of flowers."
She slithered up over the steps that made up the various levels of the student seating area. She feigned a struggle, as if each step were instead a large cliff she had to work to ascend.
"But these cliffs are high indeed, would the huntress be able to scale them in time to find all the other ingredients and return them to the witch doctor in time?"

Nepeta let out a gasp and crouched low. "Violent goat-bats?" She pretended to look around and then allowed her eyes to fall on Stein before bounding over to him.
"She spots the curious purrson that addressed her, and after an initial wariness makes her way over to him. Are you also seeking medicine for someone, she asks of him."

"A quest, huh."
This isn't Excalibur's fault, is it? He starts to turn the screw in his head, watching her.
"Don't let me stop you."

He watches her with a raised eyebrow, cocking his head slightly.
"...Isn't there a clan of violent goat-bats in those cliffs, anyways? Might be hard to get past. They're psychotic when it comes to botany."

"No, he replies. I've done it before. That's how I got the screw in my head."
He taps the screw, cocking his head.
"Most people don't realize how hard goat-bats can throw machinery."
