[the game has started and...

Sasuke says fuck this shit. he turns on heel and starts walking away.]

I'LL TAKE YOU ON

[And as Sasuke walks away, there's a sudden snowball smacking him square on the back of his neck-- and no visible opponent. But there are deep footprints in the snow from the direction it came in, the place where they stopped where someone may have tossed it from~]

YOU'RE GONNA WISH YOU HADN'T

[his shoulders hunch upon impact, and the chill that chases down his spine is wholly unpleasant, ice cold snow dripping down his bare spine where the projectile crept over the edge of his turtleneck.

he had no intention of participating in this bullshit. but then, nobody had challenged him. not in a way that warranted his response at least.

slowly, he turns and levels a glare over his shoulder to seek out the offender.]

WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT

[Confident in Lain's cloaking ability, Neji allows himself a moment of smug satisfaction. If Sasuke had the Sharingan, he knows the lack of visibility wouldn't be an issue for a doujutsu that can see chakra, but he doesn't and Neji doesn't feel a shred of remorse for taking advantage of it.

Instead, he watches Sasuke look, black eyes scanning right over the place he stands a few times and, wary of leaving a trail of footprints to follow, leaps a wide distance to Sasuke's right to aim another one at his shoulder]

[the jump, however, forces his footstep into the snow and though Sasuke has no Sharingan, his eyes are as sharp as they've ever been. his gaze darts down to the disturbance, and he steps once to the left. he almost dodges it, but his hand comes up and he cuts the snowball out of the air with the palm of his hand.]

[shit. Well Sasuke knows where he is now, and moving isn't much of an option without him tracking them. He frowns, leaning down to scoops up another few handfuls of snow to compact between frozen palms and fingers that have long reddened, then lets fly, lunging forward and dragging his feet through the snow as they go]

[for a moment, he considers turning on heel and jumping from the area.

but this person, whoever it is, happens to be relentless. and this-

this is an obvious challenge. to him alone.

so sasuke reacts, dodging the snow and stooping to grab his own handful in the same gesture, whirling and calculating mid-turn where he should throw the projectile at his invisible opponent.]

[The incoming projectile is swiped away by an invisible hand, Neji's lips curving upward as he surges forward, kicking up a flurry of snow as he molds snow and ice and launches it at Sasuke. He's close now- maybe a little too close- as he circles his chosen opponent]

Where's the speed you're known for, Uchiha?

[definitely a little too close, and sasuke's mouth twitches as he whirls.

it's supposed to be a snow ball fight, but that doesn't stop sasuke's hand from snaking out lightning fast with the intent of grabbing a fistful of shirt.]

Are you underestimating me Hyuuga?

[Neji huffs a surprised breath as he's halted and tugged forward, his hand immediately alighting on top of Sasuke's wrist to hold him as he thrusts his other, snow-laden palm toward the Uchiha's abdomen]

Not as far as I'm aware.

[he can't avoid that particular attack, but he counters it rather effectively. having the boy in hand, he's close enough sasuke can hear his breath, and so he has no trouble reaching to wrap his hand in hidden black hair, shift his weight and twist his invisible opponent into the snow bank on his left in a great puff of snow.

that might have been over enthusiastic.

Sasuke straightens and steps back, well out of arm's length.]

[A grunt startles out of him as he's immersed in a mini avalanche of snow that's quick to seep into his clothing and leave a lingering chill even as he leaps out of it and lunges toward Sasuke. Points are forgotten in favor of getting even, reaching for any bit of Sasuke he can manage to hold onto]

[he'd been ready to walk away; until the snow shifts and he feels Neji come at him. Sasuke allows the collision, one hand bracing between them, and the other groping find the source of his cloaking and wrench it from his person.

he could fight with it on; but this would be so much easier.]

[Instantly understanding Sasuke's pursuit, his free hand shoots down to his pocket- but just a moment late after the Uchiha finds it, tossing his Weapon's compact computer form away from them.

Neji materializes as soon as she's out of arm's reach and he grasps Sasuke's arm and twists, legs moving to kick his feet out from under him in an effort to shove him face-down into the snow]

Hn- [it's a grunt, but still having one arm he manages to brace at least partially before his face meets the snow. it doesn't really stop the ice from slipping down his collar, though, and he hisses when it touches his skin.

not that he's about to let Neji keep him pinned, because he grabs a fistful of the snow and twists to fling it into the shinobi's face, already working to get up.]
