The first thing Roy had done after his, ah, moment with Dojima was snag a six-pack of beer and venture out into the streets again. He knew where to go: he knew where all of his patrolmen where at any given time, really.

Especially this one.

As such, have your boss falling in step beside you during your patrol, Lady.

"Good morning."

Lady smirked as she heard his strong footsteps moving up beside her, and she looked over her shoulder to greet him with a short nod and a glance.

"I'm not sure it counts as morning until the earliest risers start waking up," she said, if only to make herself feel better. Middle of the night, morning, what did it really matter, in the end?

"Shouldn't you be doing Christmasey stuff with your family or something?" Forgive her for the raised eyebrow, she just assumed that he would have better, more important things to do than come looking for her.

"Already did. Now it's time for Christmasey things with my partner."

Why not, right?

Lady chuckled under her breath before she shrugged her shoulders.

"I guess if I'm not keeping you from anything. Just don't tell my boss, okay? He might be pissed if he finds out I wasn't doing my job right."

That made him laugh, of course.

"Is that so? Maybe I can convince him. I can be very persuasive when I need to be."

That made her grin a little wider.

"I dunno. I hear he can be kind of a hard ass when he wants to be. Especially about taking time off when you don't want to."

"Oh? Sounds like a real dictator."

She shrugged her shoulders.

"He can be alright when he wants to be."

She glanced up, realized that in following beside his footsteps, they weren't even in her district anymore.

"Where are we going?"

"Back to your place. It'll sure as hell beat drinking out here in the cold."

Right?

"You got it, boss."

Her place wasn't too far, anyway. It wasn't the biggest thing in the world, but it would certainly be big enough for the two of them to share some beers around a coffee table. Without another suggestion, she headed off in the direction of her apartment building.

"Oh, you're not staying at the Communal?"

Roy asked that later, after he figured out exactly where they happened to be heading. That was a bit surprising. Then again, Lady did not seem like the people kind of person.

"Hell no. Screw that place." Her disgust is amplified by the way she nearly physically shudders remembering living there.

"I moved out as soon as I had the money. Way too crowded and noisy." Which might be kind of funny, considering her own mouth. She found too many people obnoxious to stay, though. And she had more money than she really knew what to do with anyway.

"Now I have more room and no one bothers me," she said as they walked up to the door of her building and she let them both in.

"Sounds like pretty fair reasons for leaving to me."

That and well, Lady being out meant more space for guests whenever they popped in. Some people weren't willing to shell out for their own rooms.

Lady didn't mind, if only because she didn't have to shell out for basically anything else. The girl did like her money, but the Watch paid more than well enough. Now she was just saving up to buy herself a bike.

"I mean, you probably lived there when you first got here too, right? Pretty hard to forget," she said as she led the way to her apartment, taking the stairs. Using the elevator for just a couple floors was lazy, in her opinion.

"With the noise, the occasional explosion and that not-so-rare case of someone kicking someone down the stairs? Definitely."

Stairs were good by her boss. It gave him more things to look at. Observation was a habit that the Meister just couldn't kick.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm all for excitement. Just not while I'm actually trying to sleep."

Not that she did a lot of that, either. Enough, though.

After climbing the stairs, she headed down the hallway to her door, unlocking it and letting them both in. Her finger flipped on the light before she slung her coat over the kitchen counter top.

It was a pretty big apartment, more room than she needed really. Nothing the size of Roy's, but then again she only had one person living here, even with the two bedrooms.
