It wasn't going to be too much of a wait. Takuto was almost as nervous as he was excited, what with this being his first Christmas as one half of a couple. And there was also the part about going to his girlfriend's room, where they'd be alone.

Just the two of them.

For hours.

But the entire evening was something he was very much looking forward to, so he ignored his nerves and as soon as it could possible be called evening he was knocking at her door, with a tiny, wrapped box in one hand.

Chika beamed, her eyes completely lighting up the instant that she heard the knock on her door. Takuto was here! Takuto was here!

She practically bounced over to the door, opening it quickly and smiling widely. "Merry Christmas Takuto-kun! Come in!"

And there she was, moving away so that he could come into her apartment. Her apartment. Alone. The two of them.

This was going to be great!

He stepped inside, his nerves melting away when he was actually with Chika again. He did feel very natural and comfortable around her. He grinned.

"Merry Christmas, Chika!" He pulled her into a hug. "I brought you something. Well, something besides myself," he laughed, drawing back to show her the small present he had brought for her.

Chika giggled a bit as she felt him pull her into a hug, her arms wrapping around him. "I have something for you too," she said after pulling away, looking over at the box. "Just let me go get it, okay?"

He bobbed his head, and took the moment to look at her apartment. It was clean, which he probably should have expected for a girl (especially since she had been expecting him), and there was a good smell coming from the kitchen area.

"It smells like you're a good cook, Chika," he said cheerily, his smile now becoming permanently affixed to his face. She did have that effect on him.

Chika let out small giggle as she moved over to where the bed was, opening one of the drawers and pulling out Takuto's present. "Thanks! Hopefully you'll still feel the same way after you taste it!"

Not that Chika thought she was a bad cook, but well, it was the first time that Takuto would be eating food that she made after all. It was alright to worry.

Her box wasn't all that big either, but it was still a pretty decent size.

He laughed with her. "I hope I do, too." It would be rather anti-climatic if they had to order pizza or something. (But even that would be okay as long as he was spending time with Chika.)

He held up her present towards his, and then pressed his lips together and shrugged. He was really curious about what she had gotten him, and he couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she opened hers, but.... "Should we wait until after dinner to open them?"

Chika smiled, looking over at him as she thought about it. It wasn't like Dinner was going to be all that much longer, after all. "Yeah, we probably should," she said, moving to place his on a nearby table. "Dinner's not going to take that much more time to be ready."

"Well, that's good," he said with a mischievous grin. "I'm pretty hungry, you know." He peered towards the kitchen, then raised his eyebrows at Chika, and then took a few steps towards the delicious smells. If she wanted to surprise him with her gourmet skills, he would allow her to shoo him away, but if she wanted any help, well, there he was, pretending to sneak into the kitchen.

"Oh, well, you're still going to have to wait until it's ready," she said, following him into the kitchen as she moved to check on the sauce. She didn't want to surprise him with dinner, so it wasn't going to be that much trouble if he stayed there and watched her finish it up.

He peered over her shoulder as she checked on the sauce, resisting the urge to put his arms around her only because he told himself he'd probably make her spill something. But... well, her cheek was right there next to him, so... as a boyfriend, giving her another kiss was certainly within his rights.

And he couldn't think of a reason not to, anyway.

"It looks delicious," he said, leaning back from her cheek, speaking mostly about the upcoming meal. It was still dawning on him that he was spending Christmas Eve with a girl.

Chika smiled, blushing a bit as she felt his lips press up against her cheek, her hands holding onto a wooden spoon, stirring the sauce. "It'll taste delicious too!"

She had made the sauce plenty of times, and it had been years since she had needed her Mother's help to do it. Of course it would be delicious.

"So, is there anything I can do to help?" he asked, feeling chivalrous for asking. Keeping himself busy doing something would probably help his mind from wandering, anyway.

Chika shook her head. "No, not really. It's almost done. It's not going to be more than a couple of minutes now," she said, switching over to stir the pasta a bit. And sure enough, it looked like it was almost done.

"It's kind of hard to wait," he laughed lightly. He was getting pretty hungry, with all these delicious smells around. But he didn't want to get in her way, so he walked over to the table area, glancing around at her apartment, trying to spot the things that made it different from his own.

Chika smiled. "Well, you're just going to have to wait a..."

And then the timer start going off, and Chika moved to turn off the timer from her microwave. "Well, looks like it's just going to be a few minutes," she said, moving to turn off the burners and grabbing the strainer so she could drain the pasta.
