Outer Quarter District

Done with her tour, Tsukuyo proceeded to her assigned zone. She wondered if there were more cougars to be taken care of and, though she had seen glimpses of them around, whether she'd get to bump into either of her fellow Watch patrollers.

Tsukuyo remembers seeing Auron from the morning trainings in the park, though nothing more than a nod or occasional eye contact has ever passed between them. This night she comes across him looking perhaps a bit more exhausted than he'd let on. With almost half of the Watch gone and almost all partners in Europe, she wasn't surprised at all.

She nods her head in acknowledgegment as he got nearer. "Good evening."

"Starting. Outer quarter." She's forgotten where his shift was as well. She'd best review that list of Watch members again and determine who were the ones that left and the ones that stayed.

"Double shift?"

"A few days too long." She admitted, still uneasy with the idea of almost all of the partnered persons of the Watch absent from the city.

"I have acquaintances here as well. I do not know if that is a good or bad thing, truth be told."

Tsukuyo shakes her head. "I would not wish for them to be trapped here against their will." It takes them away from things they should be doing back in their world, for good or for ill. She just slightly slows her pace in walking. She was in no hurry to reach her destination. And the company was welcome.

"... and you, Auron-san?"

She'd really rather be back in Yoshiwara, truth be told. The reconstruction effort was just about to start, which made the place more vulnerable to rather unsavoury personages who began arrive after Housen was defeated.

"... it helps to see familiar faces, even when they are from a distance." She agreed on that.

"I only arrived one week ago." She reached into the folds of her obi and procured an already-open pack of cigarettes and a lighter. It felt so.... unelegant, but it would have to do until she could find (and afford) to buy a kiseru. She held out the pack to Auron, motioning him to take a stick.

"Thank you." She leaned back and exhaled a column of smoke. "I hope you don't mind a smoker for company."

She was thankful that smoking didn't lead to a hangover or headache, otherwise she's have problems with coping. "Then I hope they come back sooner, for your sake, Auron-san."
