Still barracks, but it’s a very carpeted barracks... and the bunks have lace curtains.

[He stares at the beds. Kuroro's not that used to luxury, but he's had experience with high class hotels. None of them have put lace curtains around his bed, though.]

I want the lower bunk. [Stare...]

I don't really care either way. [Meaning he doesn't see the point in fussing over whether the top or the bottom is the better spot. Kurapika heaves his gear up to the foot of the upper bunk, toes his boots off, nimbly climbs up the ladder, flops down on the mattress and gives a muffled sigh against the pillow. He hasn't been sleeping well the past few nights.]

[Kuroro glances at Kurapika for a moment, before sitting down on his part of the bed. Pokes the curtain.] Did we really need tapestry for this?

Why, what's wrong with it? [He reaches out with an arm and takes a fold of the curtain in hand, absentmindedly rubs the fabric between his fingers. It's an odd setup, to be sure, but Kurapika doesn't mind the cover. It makes him feel less exposed.]

Isn't it mildly claustrophobic? Besides, it'll get in the way in emergencies.

[And he stretches out on the bed, testing something out.] And the mattress is too soft.

It's just cloth. You can easily bowl through cloth.

[He pauses and lets his hands wander over the bedcovers. It's soft, yes, and he's not used to it, but neither is he as preferential as Kuroro with his hard mattresses.]

Anyway, I like it. It reminds me of a privacy screen.

Tedious.

[rolls around a little, and then he puts his foot up to the underside of Kurapika's mattress. Have a small thunk.]

Do you like privacy screens? But we have a door in our apartment, don't we?

[He feels the thunk, goes as far as to give a long-suffering sigh in reaction, then rolls on to his side.]

There's no need for privacy screens in our apartment. I meant here, because the room is unfamiliar.

[He looks around at the other beds, the dim light, etcetera. Nope, feels like home, actually.]

It's a musty, crowded and large space. I rather like it.

Not wary of being attacked anymore?

[alphaspider]

In this room, individually-- no. As a group, we probably will be.

[ih8spiders]

[He makes a face--unseen, although his skepticism will be obvious in his voice.]

We're too deep in the castle to be attacked here. We'd hear alarms from the outside first.

[alphaspider]

That’s why I said as a group. [roll roll roll]

I suppose this is better than our usual haunt.

[ih8spiders]

Yes. You don't have to worry about being attacked here. When we do get attacked, we'd get the alarm from outside, and you'll have time to get out of bed and past the curtains.

You're surprisingly calm about your safety in a stone castle. [Just. Amused. But if a black ball begins engulfing everything, the curtains would matter to him. Hopefully he's just being careful for nothing.]
