Description: Shibusen Europe needs help and the other bases have sent their agents to lend their assistance.
Event Summary Here Shibusen Linz is a castle located on the outskirts of the city, sitting on a small hill overlooking Linz itself. The castle is made of grey, carved stone, with faceless, washed out beasts perched on the buttresses to add to the place’s atmosphere. Its general area is woody -- or would be, if not for the carpet of snow covering every imaginable surface. A lonely hedge maze stands at the edge of the castle’s immediate territory, and the entire area is walled off by high concrete and metal fences. A large gate opens out into the road leading through the woods and to the city below.
Unlike the other more modern bases, the Linz base is extremely old-fashioned, still retaining much of its medieval sense of aesthetics and habits. Water for cooking is drawn from wells, fireplaces warm its interiors, vegetables and potatoes are planted behind the castle, domestic animals are housed in a barn, and the agents practice in the courtyard with heavy steel swords and shields. Modern amenities like lights and indoor plumbing have been added to the furnishing for comfort, but much of the furniture dates back hundreds of years and the castle is still decorated with old paintings and the tapestries owned by the lineage that used to live there.
The agents here are stiff-backed, tight-lipped, and extremely formal, but seem cordial enough when spoken to. Some of them are in lederhosens, while others still are in light armor, napping in front of the fire or showing the Australians (who had come earlier) their weaponry. It seems that on top of their partners, all agents here also bring weapons around with them -- maces, flails, and swords are the most common. It’s explained to you that the first Shibusen agents here hundreds of years ago were also knights of this particular state, and that this base is the oldest in Austria.
Fortunately, not all of the Linz agents are prim and proper: one or two of the younger ones seem a little off their rockers, riding horses around the yard and jousting with lances, shouting 'tally-ho.' Do not mind them, but welcome to Linz.
