[a siiigh, as he gives Sohki one last suspicious look-over and then hoists himself the rest of the way, practically belly flopping onto the mattress.]

... There will be nothing but chocolate, beer and sausage... Do you count any of that as vegetarian?

[ Itachi stood a moment, staring at the bunks they were expected to sleep at during their stay here. without bothering to ask his partner, he carefully set his few belongings he had brought with him on the bottom bed. unsure where to go next, he sat down and turned his gaze towards the other shinobi. it had been a few weeks now, since the last time they went on a mission together. it had been a few weeks since they had done anything together, actually. their schedules hardly crossed these days. ]

I hope you are ready.

[ the sound was small, something between a laugh and a huff as the blond shifted- haphazardly throwing his bag onto the top bunk. it was the sort of thing he expected to hear from his partner- something he'd come to understand was a tangle of things. an expression of concern for his well-being, as much as a question. a way to check in on each other. it wasn't unwarranted either- as naruto was certain he'd spent more time away from his partner in the past few weeks than he could ever recall doing so before.

it didn't exactly rest easily in his stomach.

naruto's arms remained braced on the edge of the frame, still standing, leaning into the bed- before his chin dipped. gaze angled down at his partner, and a familiar smile on the edge of his mouth. ] They're the ones who better be ready'ttebayo.

[ the tease is as much for himself as it is to his partner. they've never balked from particularly dangerous missions, that much can be said for them. but their track record for getting in and out with minimal damage is- well. it's a little less than stunning.

naruto pushes back from the frame a beat later, and sinks comfortably down onto the mattress beside the man. knees bumping lightly. ]

Sasuke's never gonna let me live it down if we keep going like this.
