You could even mistake it for the clinic, if it didn't lack beds.

[ With Fire and Thunder chasing around one of the little animated robots, Kilik watches over them while munching on a sausage. ]

Brock's first impression of the base at Lucerne was that it was busier than a usual day in Death City. He almost tripped over the little robots racing around, stumbling as one cut in front of him, trying to escape from what appeared to be a chase.

He noticed another person standing in the main hall. He smiled in a friendly greeting.

"Fast little guys, aren't they?" he said with a laugh.

Kilik polished off his sausage and made some nodding gesture toward the robots or maybe his weapons, mumbling something with a mouthful. Realizing that wouldn't quite work, he repeated it again only after he had swallowed his food, "If ya mean my weapons, yeah...they're a handful. These robots got nothing on 'em." He lowered his gaze to watch a few gadgets wind themselves around his feet before scratching his cheek.

"I expected kishin eggs, madness, witches -- hell, even the sausage -- but I can honestly say that the number of these things here is surprising." And a sign of someone who had waaaay too much time on his hands, but who was he to judge? Look at some of the weirdos that came out of Shibusen.

Brock blinked in surprise. He had assumed the two children were inhabitants of the city who had snuck into the main hall, not weapons. "They're your weapons?" he asked, just to clarify. "They seem a little...uh...young."

Brock realised that this probably sounded a little judgemental. "Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I'm sure they must be good in battle if they're weapons," he added hurridly. "I just haven't seen weapons younger than around 14 or so..."

Brock didn't agree with using children in a war, but he was a guest here, and it wasn't his place to judge.

Kilik regarded Brock for a moment, digesting the weight of his words before he looked off again. His expression was a little distant, "They fight for the planet..." His tone turned a bit grim, serious. "Fire and Thunder are Earth Shamans. They can communicate with the world and feel its pain from pollution, man-made destruction, and madness. The war has taken its toll not only on the lives of many, but nature as well. They hear its cries and have to protect that -- it's in their very blood to do so ( ... )

Brock's expression was serious as he listened to the other man, and he occasionally nodded in understanding. He could easily tell from the way he spoke about the two children how much he cared for them.

He turned to watch the two running around, and a smile crossed his face at joy the pair were finding in simply chasing the robots. "It's good to see their smiles and hear their laughter after...well...everything I've seen so far," he said softly. "They must be really strong to be able to still do that, after what they've been through."

Tearing his eyes away from the cute sight, and trying not to think about his younger brothers and sisters, he turned back to the man. "I only hope that I can do something to help," he said sincerely. "I'm one of the medics...well...sort of. My weapon form is a healing potion. I'm Brock by the way. It's nice to meet you," he added belatedly.

Kilik branched off into a laugh after Brock's words, "Then you're especially gonna be helpful. All weapons have their place, yours just happens to be one of the most important of all." Not that he really wanted to think about any of the guests getting injured. In a perfect world, they wouldn't. But the reality of the matter was that there were very likely to be some injuries here. So it was good to know that there was a weapon that healed rather than destroyed. It would be beneficial in the long run. He shook the thought away.

"Brock, huh? I'll remember it," He lifted his fist for a bump, "The name's Kilik Lunge. And if there's anything you need here -- let me know and I'll see what I can do to make it happen."

Brock rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed by the other man's comments. With his other hand, he lightly fist bumped Kilik's outstretched fist. "Ah...I hope I can live up to expectations," he replied with a nervous laugh. "And thanks, I'll remember."

Brock had certainly been worried when he'd first arrived and learned he was a weapon.

"To be honest, I'm glad my weapon form is for healing," he confessed. "I'm not sure I would have been comfortable being...well...the other kind."

"Heh! You'll do just fine. I know it." And Kilik honestly believed this -- he had faith in all of the guests here, no matter how small or insignificant their weapon form or meister ability may have seemed. You never knew what the witches were going to pull out next and somehow the weirdest ability might serve to save all of their asses in the end.

"How does that work? Being a healing potion and all?" He regarded Brock curiously. He'd seen all kinds of weapons, but this is the first time he'd ever heard of anything...drinkable. Or at least that's what he thought of when he heard the word 'potion.'

Brock gave him a grin. "Thanks for the reassurance," he said warmly. As to Kilik's question...Brock frowned.

"Well, in my world, my weapon form is called a Super Potion, but it's not used on humans, it's used on the creatures in my world to heal their wounds externally," he tried to explain.

"You spray it on a wound, and it heals it. It seems to be working the same way in here, but on humans, and slower. After being used a lot in one healing session, I feel really drained and tend to sleep for one or two days once I change back into my normal self. I guess I sort of...refill?...while sleeping. It's hard to explain," he said apologetically. "I'm not entirely sure how it works myself."

That really was interesting. These guests brought in all different types of weapons -- things that he wondered if they would even exist without the help of BREW. "Nah, it's cool. Lots of weapons can't really explain it -- but that definitely sounds like a good one. I bet the more souls you get, the stronger your potion will become too or maybe the less time you'd need to recharge. We'll be taking you on all our missions pretty soon, bro."

Brock shrugged and let out a chuckle. "I guess it's been a little strange for the people who are weapons to suddenly be able to transform. But then, I've seen a few unexplainables in my life."

He'd done a few tests with Naomi regarding his stamina, and they'd started monitoring his vitals and documenting what they were capable of together recently. "That's what we - my partner and I - are hoping. We're keeping track of it to see if that's the case."

Brock wasn't sure that going on every mission was exactly what he had in mind, but where there were injured people, he and Naomi provided necessary support. "I hope there aren't too many more of those..." he said solemnly. "I've been on a fair few already. It's...hard." It wasn't that Brock didn't want to heal people. He just wished people weren't getting injured in the first place.

It must have been tough to be a pretty non-combative guy in a war. Kilik could never truly understand because he was always on the front line, fighting with the rest of his team. But he tried to put himself in Brock's shoes for a moment to see where he was coming from, because Kilik could definitely understand a desire for peace rather than constant fighting. Just because he enjoyed combat, there were so many people who didn't. And there were also people, like Brock, who were just better equipped to heal than to hurt.

"You seem like a pretty peaceful guy. What'd you do back home? Help those creatures you mentioned?"

Brock broke into a smile as he was reminded of his pokemon. He hoped they were doing okay. And Ash. He wondered where Ash was, and if Ash was worried about him.

"Yeah sort of. See, in my world, the creatures are called pokemon. There are hundreds of different kinds, all with different abilities. Many people become trainers, and raise pokemon they catch to be strong and battle other trainers. Some people become pokemon coordinators, and train their pokemon to compete and show off their abilities." Brock paused, thinking of May and Dawn. He hadn't seen May in a long time, but Dawn had been in Death City. Brock hoped that Dawn and Ash had been able to meet back up in his world.

"I want to be a pokemon breeder. Breeders not only breed pokemon, but make special food to suit each type and know how to heal them using various berries. A breeder needs to understand every type of pokemon and their individual personalities to be able to bring out the best in them."

The fondness on Brock's face was all that Kilik needed to see to know that the guy really cared about these pokemon. And from his explanation, they really sounded cool. "Now I kinda hope BREW opens up a way for me to visit your world some time when this is all done." He laughed easily, folding his hands behind his head. "Sounds like a lot of hard work. I mean, I have a hard time remembering the different meister techniques for an exam...so I couldn't even imagine remembering all those hundreds of different types! But if it's something you got the passion for, then I know you can do it well."

He spared a glance toward the twins, watching them as the managed to corner one of the little robots. Hopefully they didn't break it. His attention returned to Brock, "You can't do all that you do without having favorites, though -- so what's your favorite kind of pokemon?"
