Lucy was in the middle of giving herself one last look over before she heard a couple of curt knocks coming from the front door. Smoothing her hair out one last time, she murmured a soft, “I’m coming” as she headed towards the door, pulling a light jacket over her shoulders.

Half-realizing that she forgot his gift on the table, she retraced her steps tentatively before picking it up from the kitchen table.

When she finally got to the door, there was a shy smile on her face as she gave the usual, “hey." Though, she skipped over his name completely, sort of embarrassed about the whole thing.

Sougo regarded her calmly as she appeared, blushing and M. What was with that look? But he didn't comment, simply raised his hand in greeting. Everything was normal on his end, or at least he put on a very strong poker face to mask his own emotions.

"Ah, I got you something. I hoped to give it to you before we went..." he lifted the box, though paused when he took note of the one she had in her hands. Yeah, maybe it would be a better idea to let her go first.

Seeing him lift up his own gift box momentarily, she quickly interjected with a big grin. “I got you something too,” she picked up her gift bag, flipping through the translucent wrapping paper to unfold a pale colored scarf. “Since it’s cold lately and…” she held it out, waiting for him to bend down or lean forward.

“You don’t have one, right?”

For a moment, just a moment, there was a brief flicker of something on his face. The gift wasn't anything extremely special, but it reminded him of something his sister would have gotten for him. And likely with the same kind smile Lucy was presenting him. Sougo studied it mutely before he complied, bowing his head so she could place it on him.

"No. You're in luck..." he trailed off and paused, adding on an almost awkward: "Thank you."

“I am pretty lucky, huh” she added in smoothly, taking this opportunity to wrap the scarf around his neck. Once she got it around, she put once side over the other before looping them both together and tugging a large bow into place. Laughing lightly she gave a small “you’re welcome” in return.

Lucy then proceeded to look at him from all angles before nodding in approval. “It looks good on you, Sougo.”

This was an unusual moment. Sougo was normally so well prepared to deal with pretty much anything. And yet, there was Lucy...tying him up (wait, what??) and admiring her gift on him. He followed her gaze toward the scarf, reaching up to tug the ends of the bow loose just so that it could hang there which was more preferable.

"Ah. Let me give you yours, too." He had to regain his ground, after all. "Close your eyes."

Lucy just watched him unravel it, far too amused to hinder him in his attempt; either way, he was using it and that was more than enough for her. “Close my eyes?” she questioned him slowly, pondering on that notion a bit before apprehensively deciding to comply.

She could trust him, right? “Is this all right?" And she could only hope her tenseness (and excitement - it was a weird mix, really) wasn't as apparent to him as it was to her.

"Yes, that's fine," he opened up the box, removing the contents before stepping closer. The collar was brought around her neck and he swept her hair out of the way so he could secure it in place. Black with little purple gemstones. It really was cute and fashionable, in his opinion. (If he hadn't been thinking of Lucy's tastes, he probably would have gone with metal spikes.)

Sougo fastened the leash around the metal hook of the collar, holding the open end in his hand. "Alright. You can open them."

Her shoulders stiffened under the light physical contact. Lucy was, after all, unaccustomed to these sorts of gestures. But, seeing as how freaking out would be ... mildly inappropriate, she settled for fiddling with the hem of her skirt instead.

Once he finished and gave the ‘okay,’ she opened her eyes; starting from the ground up and slowly coming to make eye contact with him. She looked a little abashed as she attempted to find the right words to say. The one set of words which could fully express her appreciation.

That is, before she noticed … his hand and what was in it. “Is that a leash?”

And soon, she put two and two together, “Sougo, this is a collar isn’t it!? I can’t believe you!”

"There's a new rule at the festival that M's have to be kept on a leash at all times. But I picked out the collar specifically for you. I hope you like it," he said this with a straight face -- as though he honestly believed that he had her best interests in mind when he bought her present.

And then Sougo gave a little tug of the leash, turning away. "C'mon. Let's get going otherwise we'll miss all the good stuff."
