Time: December 12 (or earlier)
Description: Watson is pleased to have so many volunteers again, but some of them are less practiced than the others.
One of the things that Watson was learning in this world, it seemed, was teaching people how to practise his own profession. He had started off rather uncertain about how to go about it, but the past months had given him a somewhat philosophical outlook on the matter. It was better to equip all those interested in learning with the necessary skills than otherwise, when a well-placed bandage could be the difference between a life and limb lost.
Of course, Watson was still reluctant to place children in danger, but he had known even before being brought here that war did not spare civilians, women and children. Shibusen itself was full of children fighting its war; strong children who could do marvelous things except stay in bed when necessary. And if the younger guests decided to do something about this war, Watson wouldn't be the curmudgeon to refuse the request to learn something useful to the cause.
Today, he was here to teach young Mary Weather about the basics of first aid with Enma's help. He had spread some of the usual implements on a table -- antiseptics, gauze, clean cotton, bandages -- and wondered how far he would be able to go with his teachings eventually. It was easier to instruct in the ways of bandaging things, after all. Sewing wounds close, or splinting broken bone was a step more difficult.
