The moment the other end cut off, Izuru had broken down. He had been on the verge of it for quite a while, through his conversations with both Gin and Momo, which was exactly why he would only let his voice be broadcast. It was at least a bit easier to stay calm while having a conversation, even if that conversation wasn't calming in itself. He knew she had to hate him for attacking her and helping his captain, and now he would be doing nearly the same thing, most likely. Yet he could never disobey now that he had agreed to help Ichimaru again. For that, he hated himself. Though this wasn't anything new.

He froze upon hearing Gin's voice, stopped gripping his hair and looked up slowly, his hands still shaking slightly.

"...I-I, ah...it's nothing..."

Well, it wasn't, but he had no idea what to say to that.

Gin blinked down at him a moment, and then grinned. He couldn't help it (he never could), the man was exactly where he had expected to find him. Not putting too much thought into it he reached out his hand to drag him off the floor.

"It don't look like nothin' from here." He observed cheerfully.

If he hadn't been forced to his feet, he would have stayed where he was. But, he wasn't going to fight it. He did, however, take his time in replying.

"What do you expect me to say?" It came out a bit snappy for his usual tone, he wasn't in a mood to hide that.

If Gin was phased, he didn't show it. He simply took a step back from Izuru and stared at him a moment. "Ya could try sayin' what ya think." He shrugged.

He lowered his head in some attempt to stop being watched, unconciously digging his nails into his arm.

"What I think? About what?"

[silverdeception]

"Ya ain't huddled on the floor fer no reason." Gin informed him, still observing him in a bemused way. Izuru was always so predictable, he wasn't sure why he was even asking.

It took a moment for him to speak again, briefly glancing at Ichimaru.

"...She shouldn't be here. I don't deserve her forgiveness for what I did - not when I'm only going to do it again."

Gin's grin slipped the tiniest bit, though his voice remained as light as ever.

"Why shouldn't she be here?"

[silverloyalty]

"It's not safe for her. She should be resting."

If he had known before that Hinamori would show up, he may have thought twice about his decision to join Ichimaru again.

"She looks fine ta me." Or at least, better than he remembered her looking last.

[silverloyalty]

"That doesn't mean she is. I don't think you understand."

[silverdeception]

"I don't think I want to." He shrugged.

[silverloyalty]

Moving away from the corner, he sighed.

"Then why are you here?"

[silverdeception]

"To check on my lieutenant."

Gin, too, moves away. Making his way towards the table, he takes a seat at one of the chairs, still studying Izuru.

Izuru, however, goes to stand near a window, opening it for the fresh air.

"Why should you want to do that?"

[silverdeception]

"That's what a captain's meant to do, ain't it?" he questioned.
