If Watson had been a less kind person, it would have occurred to him not to take this heavy responsibility onto himself. Shibusen or even some of Cain's other friends would have also sufficed. But as a gentleman, foisting the responsibility to anyone else was shameful and would not do Cain's memory any good.
It was with a heavy heart that he left the clinic and made his way to the Casualty Communal later that afternoon, with a pot and some tea in his medicine bag, apart from the usual items he had at hand. The trip to the sixth floor was resignedly quick, and he limped to the young girl's door not long after.
Watson knocked and waited, his face pale though smiling.
