Chika smiled, walking over to the mall as she saw Takuto standing there already. She was wearing a rather simple dress, though she did have a jacket on since it was starting to get pretty cold out.

"Hey Takuto!" she said, waving over to him as she moved closer to the other teenager. He was a pretty nice guy, after all.

[OOC: I'm assuming they told each other their name's offscreen, since I just realized that they well... didn't mention it in their thread. Oddly enough, they also both work as clerks at Triple A. ^^]

"Ah, hi, Chika!" He grinned at her and then pointed across the way towards the Diner, and then to the large mall behind him. "You wanna head over to dinner already, or wander through the mall first?" Girls liked malls, and he had no idea what time she normally ate. It wouldn't be surprising if she wasn't hungry yet.

[ooc: Yeah, let's assume they know each other names, haha. Also, what. They must have been working together earlier in the day or something? Let's assume they don't get much time to talk at work.... -_-;]

Chika giggled. "Starting dinner now is fine," she said. "We can always check out the mall after, right?"

[OOC: Well, she only got on the list of staff like yesterday, since I had her join originally on Junpei's IC post instead of the OOC one, and they probably work different shifts. But yeah, they probably don't have much time to talk unless it's not busy and one of them is staying there.]

"Mm!" he replies with a nod, walking next to her as they head towards the Diner. "So, are you new here, or have you been in the city a while?"

[ooc: Well, that's even better if she just joined the staff. Takuto can offer to show her the ropes or something, and they'll just have that much more in common!]

"I've been here for a little while. I came here before that Kishin Egg attack on the city. What about you?"

[OOC: Well... just joined the staff isn't that much. I mean, ICly the place hasn't been open for even a week yet, but yay for more excuses for them to hang out.]

He shrugged. "I've been here for a little over a week," he said nonchalantly, opening the door to the Diner and gesturing for her to go through it first. A little chivalry didn't hurt anything. "So that Kishin Egg attack... is that what caused all those broken-down looking areas?"

[ooc: Good point, lol. But still, yay for hanging out.]

Chika nodded. "Yeah, it was," she said, smiling as she walked through the door and turned around to face him. "It was kinda scary, to be honest. But have you only really been here for around a week? I'm surprised you were even able to think about getting a job this early."

"Well, I guess I'm used to having things turn out differently than I first expect." He gave her a helpless shrug, remembering how he first lost wallet swimming across a goodly chunk of the ocean and then burned all his belongings in a dorm fire. It was turning out to be quite the year. "And I think having a job is part of the experience," he laughed, "as well as allowing me to experience some of the other things out here."

He looked around for a place to sit, and then turned back to Chika. "Do you have a job?"

Chika smiled. "I see. I guess that makes sense."

It did actually. Though she wouldn't be smiling so much if she knew what he was thinking of, of course. She blinked, before smiling a bit wider at his question. "Yeah, I do, actually. I just started working over at the new arcade Triple A recently. Where do you work?"

Takuto stopped and stared at her in amazement. "No way! I work at Triple A!" He grinned, looking forward to seeing her again at work already. "What position do you have? I work behind the counter. Lately I've been working mornings, but I'll probably take more evening shifts so I can spend more time training."

Having a friend at work would make the day go by with a lot more fun--not that he didn't enjoy his job already. But now, instead of just being friends (or... dating?), he and Chika could be work buddies. Awesome.

Chika blinked, staring over at Takuto for a few moments. "Really? That's the exact same job I have too! Though I usually do the evening shifts. But wow... that's kinda weird, isn't it. I mean, that we didn't even realized we worked at the same place."

Takuto laughed, shaking his head. It wouldn't be the first time he found himself working alongside someone he knew. He smiled at her, and tried not to blush as he said his next words. "I'll have something to look forward to when I go to work, now."

He was caught between wanting to see her reaction, and feeling embarrassed for saying something pretty mushy, so he ended up smiling at her in a rather cheesy fashion for a little bit longer than usual, before suddenly searching for a place to sit down. Table or booth, table or booth... life was filled with questions.....

Chika giggled at that, before she realized exactly what he said and blushed a bit. Wow, that was... a bit forward. Though they were on a date, so really, why shouldn't he be.

Either way, time to fine a place to sit. It was only the two of them, so smaller booth would be fine... "How about there?" she asked, pointing over to one of those smaller, currently empty booths.

He nodded, and then slid into the small booth she had been pointing at. He was definitely enjoying himself, and if that giggle from her hadn't been a good sign, he wasn't sure what was. He wondered if he had any rivals.... (With his luck, she was probably engaged or something already.)

A server came by, depositing water and menus. He peered at Chika over the top of his menu, his bright red eyes sparkling. "Have you eaten here before?"

Chika smiled, slipping into the booth as well, sitting across from him as she took the menu. Thankfully for Takuto, Chika was completely single, entirely single.

She shook her head. "No, I haven't actually. Mom taught me how to cook ever since I was a kid, so I don't eat out all that often. Have you?"

He shook his head. "I'm not the best cook, but I do know how to survive," he replied with a laugh. He'd gone to the grocery store for cup ramen, and he'd been to get coffee a few times, but that was pretty much it. "Though it'll be nice to have some variety," he continued, gesturing toward the menu, which had typical American food.
