...Well. That explained it. The Meister tried not to smile, and made his way outside.
"Temeraire."

He gave him a slight bow of his head, "Good evening, sir. How do you do?"
At least he thought that that was the way one must address their superior. It did not seem too relevant back home due to the large difference in height, though now it somehow became more apparent, and the need to do so was more justified in this case.

He was perfectly fine with a dragon dropping in to see him, and made sure to show that to the awed bystanders. They'd calm down soon enough.

Roy blinked. He hadn't actually considered that option before, which was a bit surprising now that he thought about it.
"She's blind, though. Wouldn't this be a problem?"

As for his second question, he shook his head.
"It would not pose a problem. With modern technologies the carabiner seems to have been changed and can she should not have a problem with that nor should she have any problems with the harness if she can get comfortably strapped in while we are on the ground. It would most certainly not be a problem once we are aloft once she is secured properly."
He is only offering part of his argument to the man, and yet thinks this to be a very good one.

"And she's willing to take a chance with it?"
Toph had struck him as the sort of girl who liked her feet planted solidly on the ground. To Roy's understanding, it was how she managed her blindness.

"While on patrol, we have taken short ten or fifteen minute flights a couple of times during our shift. That is why I have thought about the harness so as to help her feel more secure."
It really does not help when she is trying to hold too tightly on the chain around his neck and trying to flatten herself along his back.
"I will admit it might take her a small while for her to get used to it, but in the end it might help us react to problems on the ground faster."

Roy trailed off, considering the logistics of it. Everything sounded fine, however, and it wasn't long before he was smiling.
"Well, if you think it will work, and if Toph is fine with it, then I am too."

His tail languidly swished from one side to the other and back as he heard that other comment.
"Oh, I do! I have some preliminary ideas so as to have the harness be light yet highly efficient. They are based on the harnesses I used to wear when I was not in combat rigging; but they will have to be oh so very small, even smaller than the ones the lightweights used to wear. I wonder at the thickness and width of them at times."
He scratches his head with his claw rather thoughtfully.
"Perhaps I can come up with some mathematical theorem to correct that issue and apply it to the matter at hand."
Is he thinking a little deeply right now? Not too much, though he is thinking out loud.

Of course, one had to wonder how Temeraire was going to make the plans in the first place. Somehow, Roy could see the dragon drawing them out in the ground...

"I can, and I will! Except -- would the smiths be able to work around ones that I will make on some soft wood planks? Would they have the space? They might be large but they are quite useful as I cannot hold a pen or any other writing instrument.
Perhaps I can take it to them and then draw out my ideas and let them give me some advice based on their expert experience?"
He would defend his intelligence against most anyone, especially those that would think he is nothing but a brute beast. However he will concede to the fact that there are those that can manage to do things he himself cannot: smithing is one of them, and he would need all the help he can get for it.

Motochika's going to be a very rich man after he's done with all of those commissions that the Watch has been giving to him...

It's true. He has only heard of it from what he remembers, but he has not engaged that person in conversation, neither in person or through the use of a communicator.
"However if you would like me to be in contact with Mr. Chosokabe, then it would be my pleasure to do so. Unless you would prefer to talk with him beforehand, then I will refrain until you give me word."

As it was, Roy figured it was always best to go straight for the source.
