Characters: Roy Mustang and YOU, of course.
Location: The Northern Lights.
Rating: G... I guess?
Time: Early evening (December 2) until the small hours of December 3~
Description: Mustang in a bar, with booze. You know you want it.
(
Best way to spend one's vacation. )
Upon setting foot into the bar, Gintoki feels a sense of nostalgia in the way night life is apparent in Death City. Reminds him of home. What sets the bar apart however, is the fact that Roy Mustang appears to be seated at the counter. You sure as hell don't see that in Edo.
Striding over, Gintoki takes a seat one chair away from Roy's position.
"Yo."

Roy blinked, pleasantly surprised to see the silver-haired man coming around. He smiled, though, and turned back to his drink.
"Back from patrol, I take it."
Reply
"Yeah, met up with Zura while I was at it. Didn't think he'd find me so soon."

Roy quietly made a note to make sure Gintoki's next drink was on him. It was only right, given the fact that he was probably going to ask some things that the silver-haired samurai would not be comfortable with later...

Oho, the pricier stuff hits the spot. Every time.
"So how's that vacation treating you? Didn't think you'd have to come all the way out here for a drink. I would've thought you'd have a bottle stashed in your top draw at the office." A rather hefty accusation there, but its effect was hopefully dulled by the serene smile on Gintoki's face.

Not that it kept him from doing just that when he had to, but well...
"And I've been fine, I guess. Yourself?"

Gintoki swirled his cup around, watching the golden liquid lap at the ice. It was almost calming, though from what exactly, he couldn't identify. He would have chalked it up to the effects of the alcohol, but Gintoki wasn't so much of a lightweight.
"I'm getting by. Though how can you be just 'fine'? You're on a vacation, and you don't have any drunken stories you can tell me? I know I've got a few."
Reply
Scratch that: he couldn't afford to be. Relaxing was something Roy also did in increments.

Roy could guess, but well.

"I don't even think that needs to be said. Still, keep an extra glass stashed in the draw with the booze and call me if you need someone to drink with. You might not have stories to tell, but I lived above a bar back home."
Not saying Roy had to, of course, but the invitation was there should the need for it ever arise. More than anybody else, it was the hard workers who needed a break the most.

It was... nice, knowing that he had people he could call on, if he needed some down time. Oh, but before all of that.
"Mind if I ask you something, Gintoki?"
Reply
"I could be one of those immature guys and say you already did, but we'll skip that playground argument. Fire away."
Reply
A beat, as he considered his words.
"How well do you know him?"
Reply
"Inside and out. Why d'you ask?"
A question asked for the sake of asking; Gintoki felt he already knew why.
Reply
Takasugi himself hadn't approached Roy. That was probably why he was feeling things out.
