On the way to Shibusen, around 1 pm. curtissy July 15 2011, 14:05:33 UTC
Having had lunch taken care of, Jade was all ready to head back to the library to conduct more research when the sight of Luke made him stop dead in his tracks- thankfully, where he couldn't see him.

Unfortunately, any relief he might have derived from the advantage of stealth disintegrated when he noticed Luke's dopier-than-usual look. He quickly concluded certain things on that matter, namely that a) Luke was on painkillers, b) Luke shouldn't be walking about outside and c) He couldn't just ignore the possibility of Luke getting into trouble in this state.
...needless to say, another conclusion was to be added to that: d) Jade was not going to enjoy this, but Jade would bite his lip and see this little adventure out to the end.

Thinking as such, Jade walked casually out of where he had been standing before, stopping a few paces away from him. "Luke," he said plainly, waiting to see how would Luke react to him.

Luke had been blissfully unaware of Jade until the man had spoken, then he turned his head after a moment recognition lit up his green eyes, a smile plain on his face. "Jade! HI." He responded, looking happy as could be. The one advantage of the strong painkillers, Luke found himself happy to see everyone.

Oh? Well, two could play at that game. Smiling as pleasantly as he could (Very, considering how he had had one memorable experience with a drugged Dist once), Jade replied.

"Good afternoon, Luke. Isn't it such a nice day to be outside? Why, I don't know of any other activities that one might rather be doing to pass the time! May I know where you're headed to?"

"No where, just wandering." He responds before laughing. "Why are you talking so funny Jade?"

So...funny...Jade's grin widened at that because realization dawned upon him that this little excursion was going to be a very unique experience indeed.

And 'unique' didn't necessarily mean 'good' either.

"I don't know which funny conversation you might be referring to because I was only about to ask you to lead the way," Jade replied smoothly. "Wouldn't you just like to show me something that I don't know about this city?"

Luke dawned a look not unlike a child who had been told he could have anything in the candy store he wanted. "Okay!" He said, grabbing hold of Jades hand to drag him along, already setting off for somewhere, he had no idea where just yet, but he wanted it to be a good one. Maybe the Watch head quarters, yeah, that was a good idea, and then he could tell Jade all about how he was working there, and what a good person he was trying to become.

While Jade could say the experience was not entirely unwelcome and it was rather funny to see Luke acting his actual age, there was just one matter that was nagging on his mind...naturally, Jade had taken to memorizing the map as soon as he had discovered the function on the communicator-

And this direction was not looking promising at all. Oh, Peony would have had a hoot if he had been here to see this.

"Luke, while I appreciate your enthusiasm in your capacity as a tour guide, might I suggest that we steer a little to the right?" he said finally, hoping that a little persuasion was all he'd have to use.

"But it is this way!" He said, point ahead and slightly to the left. He was fairly certain he was headed in the right direction, and he really wanted to show off to Jade that he had a good, important job. He wanted to prove that he could be a good person.

"Well, I did ask you to show you the way. My apologies," Jade replied. It would be fine, he thought; even if someone asked, he could simply point out that Luke wasn't in the condition to lead people and that he had just been walking along.

Luke just grinned and headed of seeming to veer even more towards the new district. He decided to fill some of the silence between them, to tell Jade about how he now had friends. "I've been making friends here, they are all nice people. I met one girl, she was really nice, she helped teach me about the things in my apartment so that I didn't break anything, or set more fires. And I met this one guy, he is really nice, really calm and neat, his lover is a boy."

Jade took but a moment to process what Luke said. As far apart as their traits sounded from the people he had rather come to be fond of, he could certainly see how Luke had come by those choices.

"I see, they do seem like the type of people you would like. A pause; why not ask some questions while he can? "If you don't mind my asking, how else have you been occupying your time here?"

"And I have met even more people, a lot of them are very nice. One of them seems pretty grumpy at first, but he is really a nice guy; even if he doesn't believe me about monsters." He continued a moment before blinking back a Jade.

"Oh! I go to the classes in the morning, then I go to work at noon, I get off work at six. I mostly go home after that, eat, stay up a bit then sleep. Sometimes I go to the library or just walk around. Oh, right, before classes I go to training, cause I want to make sure I am still fighting right even if I can't use artes."

"My my, it would seem that this environment really has done a lot of good for you, Luke." At this, Jade decided that he could certainly have some fun testing just how aware Luke was of his companion's 'observations' since one's slight inability to perceive the world around them while donning rose-colored glasses was always fun.

"It's a pity I can't arrange for a noble or two to be sent here, though I wouldn't want to be responsible if they choked and died on their first day here. Besides, it'd be a terrible waste of time, wouldn't you think?"

"What do you mean Jade? Who would you bring here? Why would they choke and die? There are a lot of nice people around, so they would try and keep whoever it was from dying." Luke said, only part of his mind really registering what Jade was saying.

"Oh, it's nothing. I just enjoy talking to myself every now and then to remind myself that I haven't quite gone senile yet," Jade quipped while shrugging, noting that Luke's awareness was high enough that he could process something but not quite enough to process sarcasm.

But that was quite often the case, wasn't it?

By then, they were getting dangerously close to the Red Light District as Jade had thought and he decided off-hand that he could give persuasion another try.

"You know Luke, it seems to me that I did a lot of explaining about Auldrant while we were still there. I just happen to think that it would be quite pleasant if you could explain this place to me in return."

(ooc:I am going to hand wave what Luke actually says but I will outline the general subjects he talks on. Hope you don't mind... I just don't have much time to type out a tl:dr)

"Oh... okay." Luke smiled not even noticing anything odd in what Jade had said, but then again this was always how Jade acted, so why would he?

"Well, I don't see why not, it makes sense." He answered, before starting in on an explanation of Death City, things that he had as personal points of interest like his work district, or the gardens out at the park. He also talked a little bit about how this world worked with the Weapons and Meisters, though he still didn't say which he was, and didn't really give much of an idea of his thoughts on either.
