Description: Luke has some time off to recover from his arm, but doesn't want to stay with sick!Asch anymore right now, so he is out... while also on his painkillers.

Somewhere near Fatality?

Spirit had gone home for a while to check in on Ryoki, but the day was still young (despite being up at the crack of dawn), and he had a few reports to finish in his office. Besides, Grit would get mad at him if he let his office become a sty again, and Spirit was resolved to tidy up a little... just a little... every day so it wouldn't be so bad. The redhead was just exiting the lavish and tall building when he spotted another familiar redhead.

"Hey, Luke!" he called, noting the arm slung to the kid's chest. It would heal well if Luke didn't do anything to it, he guessed. Spirit jogged over and peered at Luke's face. "Hey, you all right? What're you doing here?"

"Hummm?" Luke made a slightly confused, almost questioning hum sound before a sudden bright grin plastered itself on his. "Spirit!" He said, hugging the man with his one good arm, though the way his shoulder move it was clear he wanted to give him a full hug, but someone must have taken care when tying his arm to his body.

"Ju~st wandering, the apartment is too busy and annoying, so I thought I would go out!" He seemed to hug all the tighter to make up for only having one arm to use.

"Hey, hey! Careful with the arm, there," he said with equal cheer, returning the hug with a pleased laugh and ruffling Luke's hair. Oh, what a cute kid! "You shouldn't be out here with that kind of injury still healing, though. Doesn't it hurt?"

"Huh?" He seems genuinely confused as he looks down at his arm and sees it all wrapped up and tied down. "No... it doesn't hurt... Oh right, I got hit on the mission." He said with a small laugh, unconcerned by the fact that he had completely forgotten he had hurt his arm.

That was... odd. How could Luke have a broken arm and forget about it? Spirit clapped his hand on Luke good's shoulder and peered down at the boy's face, squinting suspiciously at the kid's eyes.

"You're pretty drugged up, aren't you? You shouldn't be out here, you know... Come on, let me take you back." Another hair ruffle, fatherly instincts taking over, and Spirit made a mental note to himself to tear whoever let Luke out in this state a new one.

Oh Spirit you are over dramatizing it, his arm isn't broken... just cut, with a... long wound, but still not broken. Luke blinked back hazily as Spirit looked at him closely.

"They gave me pills... Oh right, for my arm~!" He looked up a Spirit with a pout. "But Asch is being all grumpy and sick and Rufus is making things worse by trying to get him to take the cold meds... It is calmer out here."

If it was in a cast, Spirit always assumed it was on the verge of an amputation! He had a horror for amputations. It came with the territory of being Stein's partner.

Spirit gave Luke a disconcerted look before patting his shoulder again. "Well, I'm about to go back to my office, so if you want to hang out there for the afternoon, I'm all right with that. I can take you back after. Have you eaten? When do you need to take medicine again?"

Oh Spirit you silly man, it was just a bunch of bandages, if you poked it it would probably squish in... not that you would want to since that would probably hurt poor Luke's arm, but still.

"Okay!" Luke said in response to the offer to join Spirit, glad to spend more time with him. He gave the questions deep thought as he tried to remember the last time he took his meds, along with when he ate last. "I had breakfast... Oh no I didn't, didn't want to stick around with Mr. Grumpy-pants. I think it's every... six... hours. Yeah, I took them before I left the apartment, so... um... I think I need them again at... 2?"

Spirit wouldn't! Although perhaps accidentally... Later...

He glanced at his watch to follow what Luke was talking about better, and shook his head, putting an arm around Luke's shoulder as he began to lead the boy off. "You should always eat up, you know. Medicine is bad on empty stomachs. Come on, I'll take you for lunch before we go to the office, and we can have someone fetch your medicine for you."

"Really?! I didn't know that." Luke said, looking at Spirit with absolute faith. "You know a lot, don't you? Is it okay to go for lunch? Cause I would like that." He said, grinning at the older man.

"Of course it's all right," he answered, still grinning. Although there wasn't a lot that he could offer, given that they weren't going to his place. Maybe a quick take out of sandwich... "What do you like eating?"

"Anything that tastes good." Luke responded, not really noticing the obviousness of his statement.

"Yes, yes," he said with a chuckle. "But what tastes good to you? Do you like chicken, or beef?"

"Hum... chicken, I guess, but beef is good too..." He said, smiling at Spirit's chuckle.

A chicken sandwich, then. Spirit considered his options, and just went to Deathbucks with Luke under his arm. They had some decent stuff there, and Spirit could always use another bucket of coffee. "How's your brother, anyway?"

Luke walked along obediently, happy to somewhat snuggle up to the older male, like his original Luke as rather cuddly when on meds. "My brother? I don't have a brother... oh do you mean Asch?"
